I was wondering what qualifications do you have to have to become an instructor? i like teaching and i thought it would be cool to someday teach the new and upcoming people. i am still just a vollie now and will be paid soon (fingers crossed) and just wanted to know what the requirements are ie. time, classes, etc. maybe i will be in this upcoming spring class if not then there is always fall have a great day and stay safe out there

I think i would just goto Hell, MI. cheaper airfare.

What is with all these new shows on TV about SWAT teams, and beach patrols. whens "YMCA Pool Lifegurad" coming out? PLus the got rid of Firehouse:USA so they can put this stuff on? i know they are all on diffrent channels but still. if the idea didn't work with other things why is it gonna work now? I mean they could be great shows and all but we will see

I am on the New Haven Line and we don't get to ride these trains. i have gone to the city from Fleetwood and i would take the new one anyday. they are bright, clean, i think more roomy, and seats more comfortable. only complain is they aint on the New Haven Line.

I bought a pair of boots for firefighter a few weeks ago but they are a little tight. anyone know a way to break them in a little so they fit? i cant wear them all the time like a normal pair of shoes. the ankle area on top of the foot is the part thats tight and it is pain in the butt to get them off without busting a hamstring. any ideas?

ya i got the boot taking off thing already. i do have to yankee candles in there now. is there a fluid you can put on it to loosen the material so it stretchs easier?

OK it is winter and my hands and knuckles are cracked and bleeding. anyone have any good remedies for this? i try and put hand cream on but it aint getting it done. PLEASE HELP!!!!

FIRE INSUREANCE MUST SUCK IN THIS TOWN. Look like you house is gonna burn down at least twice in your life if you live in this area. anyone know where the busiest company in the US is? these guys are number 3. also is it just me or do they seem really, really, ridiculously cocky? like "ya we the best you all wish you could fight fires like we do" i mean we would all love a busy house but what is going on that they are having sooo many fires? do they include car accidents and no fire things in that number? if it is a volunteer company, why do people live there?

we in pelham manor got shut out of 2 training center days this year but we still had 2 good days up there. i think they should put windows on the tower that close, like the metal ones on the other training buildings, so we can smoke it up a little for a apartment fire simulation.

take an old jacket or pants and cut a swatch of cloth in the shape of a pocket and attach where you want it. i am in no way a seemstress and couldn't really tell you how to do it but if you get pants with the bellow pockets on ebay, you could attach those to your current gear. but i would try the old stuff in the closet thats gonna get thrown out first. there gonna trash it so have some fun with it :-D

cant wait to see some rapper with a 2007 Seagrave all chromed out and with a "bumpin" sound system. have it lowered with flat screen tv's in the head rests, subwoofers, the platinum halligans, the shield on the helmet will be all iced out with dimonds. i hear they already ordered 7 for the south bronx and the dirty south is gonna be all over the new rides.
