I've been at the airport when then V.P. Gore came in. A C-130 carrying his motorcade vehicles landed. Very big, very loud.

My parents used to say that driving is not a Right, it's a luxury. "Seniors" feel that they're entitled to drive and most know that even though they have medical conditions they have to be on the road. Dateline did a story on this subject a few years ago and rode around with some older drivers. It was amazing at the disregard some of these people had for the rules of the road. Insurance companies should be able to require medical checks when a driver reaches a certain age. If you can't see over the wheel, you shouldn't be behind it.

You watch how quickly the vending machines will need to be re-stocked now. Then in a few months candy will be banned because the employee's are getting too fat.

Well News 12 isn't the only outlet carrying this story now, it's on all the "major" local's. I guess it's a slower than usual news day.

Get ready for attitude from those employee's affected by this ruling. I smoke, and have for a long time. Those of us who have stressful jobs, have different vices to cope with what we deal with on a daily basis, I prefer to smoke. Do I know it's bad for me? Yes. I'm an adult. I'm not saying that while I'm on the clock, I should be allowed to smoke, it's not fair to those who don't. But, on a break, the time is mine to do with it what I please, as long as it's legal. Can I drink at work? No..Common sense. If I'm being brought in to a hospital, I don't look at the ground to see if there are cigarette butts, I want to be taken care of. I'm not asking for sympathy, but just think about your own vices and what you would do if your company or agency tried to restrict you...I'm ready to hear all of the rebuttal's on how bad smoking is, how it's not a right, etc.....Thanks for allowing me to vent.

When you read about the elderly involved in accidents and they're asked what happenned, most of the time they say they hit the gas instead of the brake. IF you had an elderly person with a pistol permit and they said they accidentally pulled the trigger instead of setting the safety, what would happen? It may be comparing apples to oranges, but I just figured I'd put it out there.

This info. comes from an expert, my wife, who has been a travel agent for 19 years. Most people know WAY in advance when they are going to travel on an international flight, the closer to the depature date, the more expensive the ticket, so most book months in advance. Whether you're looking or booking, check the expiration on a current passport or plan on applying BEFORE you book the trip. An expedited passport can be done in 2-3 weeks, provided all the paperwork is correct.

I wonder if the Metro North guy pays for tolls or if he uses an orange e-z pass? With his salary, the cash shouldn't be an issue.

Al Gore's son pleaded guilty to 2 felony counts, but the judge will wipe the slate clean if he completes a diversion program. Not bad for posession and reckless driving, and not a first offense.

Cops doing firefighter's jobs and vice-versa...Port Authority Police NY-NJ seem to be doing a fine job at that.

Another one walking the streets that should'nt have been. When are the judges and lawyers going to be held accountable? These plea deals do nothing except endanger the lives of the rest of us. Prayers to Officer Dolan for a speedy recovery.
