As someone that has worked both as a fire dispatcher and now currently as a police dispatcher I we get 911 calls alot of them being accident or false calls but when a medical or fire emergency comes in i do transfer it to the proper agency I have no problem doing so some times you cant transfer the call because you can bearly keep the person on the phone. You shouldnt take the main answering point away from the pd cause what's going to happen when you get a 911 call for a robbery or such your not going to send an engine obiviously there is alot of info they you might be able to get out of the caller no matter what the emergency. Some cities and villages and towns will not give up the 911 to a central point take yonkers for instance both the fire and PD are very busy agencies and might aswell be there own county. For the agencies that due get dispatched by fire control it is an asset because of the emd system. This is something that wont ever change.

Was a fire in the 2 car garage of 2 story dwelling one line stretched fire was knocked down quickly. Fire was not out like reported by state police arriving units found the bright orange glow coming from the garage no injuries. Good job done by all

Hey guys this does help us if you sit and think about it people will see the blue lights on the police car when we respond to calls with our lights on they will pullover faster. 2nd i am a police dispatcher the blue does help people see the police car during the day but also at night at accidents and such there have been many police cars hit this year and if the blue lights on the police car prevents one cruiser from getting hit and keeping a cop safe i am for it if you see around the state on the sp cars there are blue lights in the rear windows aswell as on the rear of the light bar so before you go off complaining think about it!

If anyone is looking for info on there current Mack or retired Mack apparatus you can go online through the Mack truck museum and they will send you copies of all the info they have on your departments truck the only thing they ask for is a small donation to help keep the museum running Some of the info i was able to obtain is 2 black and white file photo's of the truck when it was delivered to us an original parts list and pump diogram a log book entry of all the departments around buying mack firetrucks as well as ours an advertisement on the mack 505s series pumper multiple places that sell original mack parts all you need to do is give them the serial number of the apparatus and they will be glad to assist you its great for finding out info on older trucks

Personally there arent any complaints that i know of everyone is very happy there are some emergency calls still answered by mohegan and its amazing seeing the utility tear out of the firehouse and 5 mins later we get the call because some of the nursing homes dont call 911 and the FD feels they have to call for the yorktown medic then the ambulance so there are a few things that have to get handled on the fire side but we are all happy
