Hey I was wondering if any one has offically heard of the change over? rumor has it that is will be within 48hrs so enjoy the only rock station you can get clearly in the area... I did a search on google and couldn't find too much.

I heard there was a hold up with NWH because of the town board is that true? I have also heard that the little strip of stores across from friendly's has to go for the new expantion at NWH?

It might not be failure depending on the year of the car. the seatbelt isn't buckled. newer cars won't deploy an airbag if the seatbelt isn't on... I can't make the year of the car but it could be a failure

Its simple... if they were going slower it wouldn't happen. The law sucks and i hope the patient in the other ambulance (if there was one) is ok and my prayers are with the crew and the patient in the car. we all have to drive slower... we have to get there and safe. i know my driving changes evertime i see this or hear about this

I have to agree over the past couple of years the standard of EMTs has dropped. They need to address this and make them less medic dependent. More rotations could help... but i think there should be a min. standard of what EMTs see and treat before they get cleared like a medic.... and also hold the agencys responsible for doing a precepting time for the EMTs similiar to new medics so they don't just go out and do calls with a card that is still very wet. almost a mentoring system. Hey some people just can't do it and shouldn't be in the business and they should be let go or put into another area where there skills can be used.

They should get rid of that exit and entrance. It only helps if your going north and can only get off northbound on the saw mill. I have seen some new signs there last time I got off but I guess they haven't help.... now its only a matter of time before something worse happens there.

If that does happen where FDIC and SIPIC have to bail out the banks its going to take a LONG time for the economy to recover. The problem is when these federal insurances kick in it will be too late. the damage will be done and we will be well past a golden hour to actually fix the damage. It will be like falling down a hole without an end in site. I just want to know who the repersenatives have been talking too. and who convenced them to vote no I know it wasn't me ??? I think its a good law and a shame that it has to become a law to make companies make there employees safer.

i've been in her engine room its all still orginal switches last time I was aboard. I wish I had my camerea but I left it at home that day. I don't belive the engine is answered by bells any more. I do know the Harvey Boat is ALL orginal and her engines are still givens bell orders on the bridge.

I have to say that lately I have seen ALOT of departments in westchester turning on themselves.... by creating new rules for some people along with a double standard... yea evil words but it happens. The biggest thing I have seen is that volunteer agencys have been tending to turn away people that are in college because they go to school and can only be around on the weekends and can't respond too much at night. But are very dependible durning the summer months when others go on vaccations.... I thought any form of help in a volunteer agency was good but I guess not. Its sad to see that they are treated different because they are trying to better themselves.. its hard to get a good paying job with out a degree these days. seems like gas goes up and salaries go down.

why did the FDNY scuddle the boat?? did they get anything for turning it into a fish house??? I know some fire departments that could have given her some TLC and used her for fire and rescue operation.... Its sad to see something like this happen unless there is some major structual hull damage to the boat.

What do you mean certified health care providers have a duty to act. I have been at the firehouse with a couple of emts sitting around refusing to go for a person with chest pain. There response was "I can't go i have to be somewhere..." alright I understand the but don't be there when I come back..... ?????? I have also heard this a some VACs too lately. Alright you don't like someone but come on they didn't call 911 because they thought it was bullshit. They want help and want to go to the hospital for the most part.

What about getting something surplus from the coast guard??? I know they have alot of cool stuff you just have to get in touch with the right people. There are also some older steel hulls out there that actually preform better then any new one. I just wondering why such a small platform too. Hey if your going to do it do it right you need a 50 foot boat, with a twin engines. But that is just from my experinces from being out to sea.

I don't think you need a percription from a doctor anymore. Have you been to 7-11 they sell what looks like a spray can that is O2 for about 20 bucks. The ads say its good for a hangover, chest pain and after a tough work out. no cert required no MD needed. I wonder what else will be availble over the counter in time....

i used to carry one in my pov and always made sure it was perpendicular to the fram of the car so if something did happen it would go out the sides and not out the front or rear.

we should actually wash them down with bleach after the kids are done. How many times have you seen green burgers hanging out of a kids nose??? or sneeze or cough without cover there mouth?? When you were a kid and didn't have a tissue what did you use for your runny nose?? a sleve?

WHY God what did I do that you have to take the only radio station I listen too off the air. DIDN"T they learn with the FREE FM . It didn't work... Why and why country. Take another station like Z100 off the air and make it country but not the only Rock Station we have. Not again. Is there another pettition to keep K-Rock on the air?????

yea its home rule but look at long island they just have county cops out there and few local PDs...... What about starting slow with chagning ems to county like the paramedics so that maybe it would be easier to update the protocalls???? But that is a MUCH BIGGER fish.

No your right we don't have a ladder. But we have managed very well with the use of our ground ladders. But usually if we do need a ladder we have Banksville on the northern end and Chappaqua on the souther part by 120 and Whippowill, and Mt Kisco just down the road on 128. Granted we have a very close relationship with Banksville because we cover the transporting for ems call in Banksville, so we tend to call them more. One thing that has been a talk around the firehouse lately is replacing one of our ambulance with one that might have 4x4 package after this past winter. With these massive twisty driveways we found it intresting in all that ice last winter. Another thing that has been an intresting conversation peice on the firehouse floor is a new rescue. With many different views of whether it will have a pump or not. But nothing on ladder truck just yet. Maybe someday who knows.

This is a good point but the thing is all the boards are marked "NYC EMS" its a rare occation that you see other board at hospitals in the city but you do see NYP and the occational VAC too. Why can't we do something like that here in westchester??? granted it would be complicated to organize but what if the next time a vac bought a board labeled it Westchester or something so if you need a board because you just brought a patient in on one and there was a county board there you can take it without an issue of who's it might be ???

we have been good lately for the past 2 years but for some reason or another in the last two months our backboard have just disapeared the straps and head block are inexpensive its the board that cost a lot We label the board does any one number them to track them or have any method to track them?
