  1. Before we know it, NREMS will be transporting to PUTNAM!!! They just put 30B1 into service in case Soundshore goes on diversion. See what this United Hospital epidemic is doing! ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
  2. Firehouse Grill in Peekskill - Try the Haz-Mat wings if you like REALLY hot food. :flamed:
  3. Good luck, I'll pass the word around.
  4. Have fun, good luck, and TAKE LOTS OF GREAT PICTS!!!
  5. FYI - Transcare Unit #'s designated to NREMS 30A1 - 260 30A2 - 270 Spare rig - 714 All 3 have the NREMS/Soundshore Lettering Design The unit in the picture of the Apartment fire on 12/21 is a Mt. Vernon Transport rig (Sometimes used as '30A3' or '30B1')
  6. PACK THIS!!! Packers will be eliminated by the Eagles, Pats by the Steelers. Jets will be knocked out first round if they make it. Colts might get knocked out in the 2nd round, if they can get past the Pats. I don't care what anyone says, the Steelers are unstoppable. This coming from a Jets fan!
  7. I was wondering how everyone likes the MR's. The only Mack I've ever driven is a CF. Are they simialr in feel, handling, comfert etc?
  8. Steelers, Steelers, or Steelers. Did I mention the Steelers? Seth - I hope your not a Pats fan!! Me and you gonna have beef bro!! Does that mean you like the Red Sox too!?!?!?! :chainsaw:
  9. In case nobody else saw it, Jimmy Boy was featured in this past issue of the WCVFA newsletter!! Glad to see things are going well. Happy New Year!
  10. No real suggestions, but best of luck to you!
  11. As much as people don't like united, this is going to have a major effect on: Port Chester EMS Harrison VAC M'neck EMS Larchmont/M'neck Town VAC WP Hospital Soundshore Hospital Greenwich Hospital Westchester Medical Ctr And I don't mean good effects!!
  12. My dad is a MN conductor, he says just the opposite. The aisles are narrower, there isn't as much room between the seats, and there is LESS seating capacity. Also the doors close a lot slower, and the announcements are automated. The PASSENGER complaints about the announcements are that there are too many of them for each station, and there is an annoying "ding-dong" before each announcement. Sounds like they're not at nice as everyone is making them out to be!!
  13. That's the norm in Croton. We've been dealing with it for years. Sad reality! ](*,) ](*,)
  14. E38 is a very nice looking engine, even though it is green. (at least it's a respectable green, not like E120). That "thing" on E61 is a light tower. I personally don't think it looks too bad. Plus, scene lighting is important. PCFD is probably one of the few departments that have tower lights on more than one piece of apparatus. L31 is a nice truck, but it's too big. You have to wait for 2 people qualified to operate it to respond. Yeah, it's true, you can lock the rear axle straight, but you can't tell me that it will make it out of that firehouse with the rear axles locked. Remember, it's not all about looks. The rig has to be practical enough to use as needed. I still maintain my theory that L47 is exactly what most departments should need. No more, no less.
  15. Intersting timing...I was just in Manhattan yesterday, and I was talking to a FF on 26 Engine. I asked him if he liked the Ferrara or the Seagrave better. His words exactly "The Seagraves are much better. There is no room inside the Ferraras. You can't get your equiptment on without hitting the guy sitting accross from you." Long live Seagrave!!
  16. Bottom line, if it's a pager, it will have problems!!!!
  17. This just in....Croton Police plan to buy the old Mack to verify all the check and advises they do on reported fires!! Not really, but it wouldn;t suprise me!
  18. The new NRFD E22 looks like a nice rig. Once that is fully equipped with the squad gear, it should be one hot engine. Keep in mind though, it's not just the looks that make the firetruck. I can have a rig all "blinged" out in gold leaf, chrome, etc, but if the equiptment isn't there, or if it doesn't preform its assigned task, then i wouldn't consider it a good rig.
  19. The only thing with painting the rollup doors is cost. Yeah, it would look hot, but New Rochelle is probably more concerned with the function of the rig. All in all, it's a nice rig that should serve them well. Good luck to E22/SQ2.
  20. This is another unfortunate incident that could have been prevented. Remember, when proceeding through an intersection, apparatus have to due regard for saftey whether they have the right away or not. Simple things like nowing where your apparatus are responding from, and knowing what intersections you may meet at can help prevent this. If Engine 1 and Engine 2 are responding to a call, and at some point the two routes meet, say over the air, "E1 is approaching Main and 1st" this way, if E2 is also approaching Main and 1st, they can slow down and prepare for them. It's the little things that can sometimes make the big difference.
  21. As far as a calendar...how about the X-635 swimsuit calendar. The girls would go crazy!!!! :peace:
  22. From what I hear, the Crave Cave on North Ave in New Rochelle is pretty good. Never tried it though. Also, around the corner is Mr. Taco. They have excellent real tacos, not like Taco Bell. Walters makes the best hot dogs, by far. The Little Spot in N.W.P. is a good place for a nice simple lunch. I reccomend the corn and burgers P.S. - THANKS A LOT DAVE!!! REMEMBER - PAYBACK"S A b**** :chainsaw:

  25. If you want fast food, it's all about the KENNEDY FRIED CHICKEN!!!!!!!! Now, on a serious note, I think the best fast food has got to be Taco Bell, followed by Wendy's. Burger King gained some of my respect when they started selling chili.
