It makes plenty of sense. It can't hurt to send them. A good motto to live by, "when in doubt, send 'em out." At least get them started I know DMA327 would agree with me....10-75 FAST TEAM, FAST TEAAAAAAMMMMM!!! (Inside Joke)

Why would people be dumb enough to do stupid stuff like that? Did She think that maybe this would get her the award? ](*,) ](*,)

They're not buffing, any time the county get's a confirmed 10-75, the JMFD and the DMAFD get dispatched for support!

=D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> Well said, John. I couldn't agree more. I remeber one time at the FTC, my sister, a Croton Explorer.(They wear blue helmets) Walked up to a Peekskill firefighter in a blue helmet, and asked him how long he had been in the explorers for...The fighter happened to be young Jim Seymour, NOT AN EXPLORER! #-o Just one more reason to try and keep things universal.

They are a lot shorter than plain english sometimes, but the correct message may not be getting across. I'm sure many volunteer departments have a few police officers that are active members. Suppose they want to say they have a confirmed fire (Croton PD's code for fire is 10-16.) Well, if you say you have a confirmed 10-16 on 46.26 (false alarm), and then start screaming for mutual aid...hmmm, people are going to be confused as hell. Yeah, I like 10 codes to an extent. They shorten up the message, and they are 'buffy,' but I'd rather be sure that everybody is clear on what I'm trying to say.

Congrats and good luck to all of the new "Buck-town" officers =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

OUCH!! Us loyal Jets fans that have been there even through the days of Rich Kotite :cry2: are very proud to see them get this far. As much as I don't think we don't have a chance against Pittsburgh, we will hope and pray. If the defense holds strong, Curtis 'My Favorite' Martin can have a stellar preformance, and if Chad P can repeat what he did on Saturday, things may work out. [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< P.S. - Just remember who's currently on the links from NY/NJ!

Wow, talk about scary. Just one more reason to never let your guard down. Whether or not he was the intended target, just remember, they're are some sick people out there that will go after anybody in a uniform. Stay safe.

I wouldn't say "Great"...

Well, much to my suprise, when I woke up Thursday morning after the snow storm, the ramp at my firehouse had actually been somewhat plowed. Only have the ramp, and nothing had been done with the sidewalks, but, as I've come to learn, you can't ask too much from the Village of Croton!!

This is not confirmed, but I hear from an unnamed source that the Transcare contract in the City of New Rochelle has been extended for another 4 years, and that the ambulances will be replaced with "Mini-Mods." The current van being used as 30A2 will be kept as a spare rig.

The situation seems to be improving. As of 1554 on 1/5/04, United Hospital is the only one on diversion. WCDES has suspended all diversions due to inclemet weather. =D> =D> =D> =D>

I was thinking about getting a VF plate, but I decided not to, because you couldn't customize it. What I did instead was my 2 apparatus designations. I'm not giving out my license plate # to everyone, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out !!

This is an argument that can go so many different ways. Like DMA said, the truck is a good place, becasue the are SUPPOSED to be first in. FAST engine, yeah, another good place to have it. Command vehicle, only if it is guaranteed to be on every call (carrer depts only.) Rescue - debatable. If it can be afforded, I like the idea of one in every house. Take Croton for instance. E119 - Sta 2, and R18 - Sta 3 Have on. Now if TL44 or E118 got on (Sta 1) If one rig is going out as opposed to another, someone could just grab it and bring it to the scene. Unfortunatley, not every dept can go out and 3 or 4 imagers.

It may just be extra support for pumpers. I do agree that it is a little big. As nice as it looks, functionallity is the goal (in most cases) in the fire service. Interesting idea for the crosslays up front, although they are a potential tripping hazard coming out of the rig that low. Ladders? Hard suction? Don't see it. Also, the biggest gripe I have with any pumpers that chooses to leave this out, NO FRONT SUCTION!!!!!!!!!!!
