Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Tanker 10 was called to Mt Vernon a few years back for water main problems.

I too never siad I can't stand the NY Yanks - You will NEVER hear me say that. Funny story I feel should be shared - I was at one of the recent BoSox/Yankees games at Yankees Stadium. I ran into someone in the restroom that had a Yanks jersey on. The back of the Jersey was: Steinbrenner . $ $ =D>

My girlfriend was showing me some pictures of an FD funeral in the Village of Mamaroneck. I saw picts of 2 old rigs, and she knew that one of them was Mamaro's old rig. The other one was an Ahrens-Fox. The picture was circa 1954. Anyone have an idea as to which company that may have been?
-
That just may have been it. If I can get a copy of the pictures from her, I will post them. I do know that it was in the early '50's.

I was watching Ladder 49 at work, and I noticed a minor flaw in the film, and thought this is a good opportunity to start a thread on errors/quirks in films. On Jack's very first call in the movie, (the flashback after falling through the floor) everyone is getting dressed before getting into the engine. The chauffer on the engine puts his coat on, and has no headgear on. When they show him driving the engine, he is wearing a baseball hat, and no coat. :-k :-k I know there are things even more obvious in other films, I can never remember them though. Anybody know of some?

I was at the NY International Auto Show on Wed. and I was hoping to see one there, but no luck. They did, however, have the Charger Daytona, and the Ram Daytona, equally as sweet. (Well maybe not quite as sweet until the get some lights and sirens!)

I notice it doesn't have NYS certfication stickers on it, so it doesn't have to be Part 800, but correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure there is enough equiptment on board to treat most patients.
-
Just curious - anyone know why there are no crosslays on the new engine? Not bashing or critisizing - just curious.
-
In order for it to be a certified BLS fy car, it has to be Part 800 Compliant, so there goes your concerns about equiptment

You're selling to the wrong crowd - I was just informing you how it works. Plus - Red Lights and sirens don't save THAT much time.
-
But you've worked in Somers - you know how long it can take them to get a full crew to the ambulance at times. Why not send the EMT to the scene to start care - remember the golden hour - and then the driver picks up the ambulance and brings it to the scene - that's the whole idea behind it. (Aside from buffy members getting to use red lights and sirens)
-
Somers has one - 80U4. For a big area like Somers, it can work real well, because sometimes it can take a crew member 20 minutes to get to the ambulance depending on traffic, weather, etc. And they may have to pass the scene. If the EMT can go right to the scene and initiate care, it's a win/win situation. I am not sure on how Sleepy Hollow works thiers, or how well it pays off for them.

Remember, we as emergency vehicle operators have to proceed with due regard for saftey. If we wreck, we obviously didn't have due regard. It's as simple as that.

I can hear my arteries clogging just thinking about it.

As I mentioned on another thread, NREMS is supposedly getting 2 identical "mini-mods." They are supposed to be painted FD colors. (White over red) I don't know anything else about them, but as more comes in, I'll let everyone know.

Nope. I'm still patiently waiting. Wattsamatta? WEMS isn't cutting it for you?
