I have a few questions to pose for everyone, since this is an ongoing problem with my department. Please list the name of your fire dept/VAC/etc. and who is supposed to remove the snow from the ramps/sidewalks, and who actually does the snow removal. The reason I'm asking, is in the Village of Croton, the DPW is supposed to remove the snow from all the firehouses. (Village Property.) This rarley ever happens though. Every year, the members break down and do it, because they are so fed up with it not getting done, and we don't want to see anyone get hurt responding to an alarm. I'm curious to see if this is a common problem.

Extending on what remember585 said: Zero Tolerance for: Firefighters who only get half-dressed (if that) becuase they think that this residential alarm is just another "routine" call. Full gear and packed up for everything until your told otherwise!

BFD - I used to go to school in Jersey 4 days a week. Once I graduated - I swear my blood pressure and stress level plummeted! And on a side note - Connecticut drivers aren't any better. I swear turn signals aren't standard equiptment. Then again, that goes for half the drivers in the south half of the county!

Good points I never thought about. The main reason I brought up an old oil tanker is because Croton's Orignal T10 was a converted tanker truck. After what we went through with out Tanker rollover last year, I wouldn't mess around with anything like that. We got lucky that it wasn't as bad as it had the potential to be.

I used to be all for the Min2's, but I've had my current 4 now for about 4 months - since Croton changed tones - and it is great. I have had no problems at all, except one minor issue that the vibrator function wasn't programmed in, but that's minor and can be fixed in a matter of minutes. As far as the musical tones...WHY? I don't want to confuse my phone and my pager!

How about the people who slow down and get in your way when you have a blule light on, and then ask you why it took so long when the alarm is at their house!

It's not a bad idea - i bet an old oil tanker or something could be picked up for less than $150k and fabricated with a dump on it. I'm actually suprised YFD or another larger agency hasn't done it yet.

Now I know why they created Prozac!
