Read carefully... 30A3 is SECOND DUE to 30A2's area, and THIRD DUE to 30A1's. 30A3 is NOT at station 3, that is 30A2 stationed there.

They post in the Ward Acres Park, a city owned park, as Capt Nechis stated, on Quaker Ridge Rd. Originally when the 3rd ambulance was put on in New Rochelle, it was supposed to be stationed with 30A1 as a 2nd rig on the south end, alternating calls with 30A1, which is a very busy truck most of the time. Shortly after it was put in service (I think within a week or 2), it was relocated to the north end due to the long response times to some spots for 30A2. Now 30A3 covers that area, and they are the 2nd due to all of 30A2's area. When 30A2 goes on a job, 30A3 relocates to Station 3.

Someone's a little bitter... I've been there for 3 years, I go to work, do what I have to do, and go home, just like anywhere else. The only time I've seen people have problems is when they are defiant or screw up...

In regards to Transcare being a seperate entity from Brooklyn, the Brooklyn offices are mostly corporate. There are many units turning out of the BK, but thats where the big bosses are. I've worked Transcare in the Westchester 911 both full time and per-diem for almost 4 years now. It's not a bad gig. Just like anywhere else, if you come in, do your job as required, and go home at the end of the day, nobody should have any problems. Either way, best of luck to the Alamo employees, and for those sticking around, WELCOME TO TRANSCARE!!!

Here are some picts from New Ro's fire earlier today. It was a fire in the wall on the 1st story of a 2 1/2 story P/D. The fire took off up the wall and across the ceiling. Great stop by the NRFD!

Haha, actually, all the food was gone before we got to the hanger! They said they were getting pizza, but we didn't stick around for it. It was a hell of an experience. Learned quite a bit, had a great time, and got some overtime! Can't beat that!!!! Lol

The real joke is the dumb-asses with their "brilliant" ideas to save money commenting on the article!

I think this is a great topic, and it's going to produce some very interesting and beneficial responses. I for one, am all for firefighter (well, not just firefighter, let me rephrase that to "responder" to cover PD and EMS too!) safety, but I do agree with the fact that when it comes down to it, we know there are risks, and sometimes have to be willing to take those risks when someone's life is in danger. Based on 99subi's post, I've never seen safety "get in the way" of an operation, but more so lead to different tactics being used to accomplish goals. I think this is such a great discussion because so many different aspects can be brought up here. Whether it be actual fireground operations safety, response safety, or even preventative issues like rig/equiptment maintenance or firefighter physicals. What it comes down to is calculated risks. What can I potentially gain vs what can I potentially loose, or more importantly, WHO could I potentially lose. KEEP THE RESPONSES COMING!!!

Interesting to say the least.... But very logical!

I'm not saying that it's a bad idea, but don't expect to see it anytime soon... I'm sure Chris192 would have a better idea, but all the WCPD officers I know are saying they are understaffed as it is. Guys running traffic stops on the parkways in southern Westchester waiting 10 minutes for backup.. Obviously much more manning would be needed, probably additional vehicles as well. Considering what Yorktown PD covers, Rt 202, Rt 35, Rt 6, JV Mall, BJ's shopping center, Triangle Shopping Center, BOCES, numerous schools, and parts of Mohegan, JUST TO NAME A FEW. If it does happen, it will take a lot of time, and careful thinking. I don't expect to see anything soon.

Hmmm, I seem to remember SOMEBODY whimping out on the "5-Alarm" wings a few years ago on his birthday, and leaving ME to finish the order.... Any idea who that may be, Rob? I wish I could make this one, especially since it's so close to home, but I'm going to be at MoFire390's wedding... Have a Haz-Mat wing for me!

The 2nd picts do look brighter and sharper than the first ones.. And thanks for not taking the picture on the side of 68-10 that I ripped the molding off of last year!!
