  1. That thing was the greatest. Nothing beat running down to the corner of my street when I was like 5 years old, seeing 119 first with like 8 or 9 guys hanging off the back and jump seats, then seeing that tanker coming down the road followed by the '62 Mack engine. I wish I had pitcures.
  2. I wish...
  3. Sounds like the exact same system croton uses.
  4. For once, I agree with you. Fortunatley nobody got killed or hurt, but because of that, it will keep the charge at 4th degree, so he may not go away for as long as some of us would like to see. I think this brings up another point, which maybe a new topic should be started on - Should a firefighter convicted of Arson get a higher charge automatically because he's a firefighter? I think it wouldn't be a bad idea.
  5. We use the Village DPW pumps, and as per one of the DPW employees - our backup is syphoning the extra fuel out of the DPW trucks in the lot.
  6. Yeah - Damn her - she dragged me along with her. I tried and tried to stop her, but it was no use.
  7. If I remember correctly - Engine 52/ Ladder 52 Cover a portion of riverdale. That's the house that you can see if you're going up/down the Henry Hudson Pkwy.
  8. I was just looking through funny images on "fugly.com" when I came accross this one. It's not such a funny picture, but a scary reminder of how the roofs on the typical fast-food establishments (MacDonalds, Wendys, etc) have cheap, weak construction. http://www.davesdaily.com/pictures/361-mcburnt.htm These roofs are extremely unsafe, and with probably at least one in almost every district in the county (average), it is important that we remember with the amount of time the roof will be exposed to heat before a unit gets on scene, they will be extremely dangerous to responders.
  9. Always an exception! Just messin around - I do it too!
  10. Then why was a cirtain fly-car at a car fire in Bedford Hills last week!?!? CAUGHT!!!!
  11. I know New Rochelle Sta 1 Has one - I'm not sure about the others, but I'll try and find out if someone doesn't beat me too it.
  12. I tried to find this online, but i was having no luck - there is a "political cartoon" on page 30 of todays (7/13) Daily News. It shows a firefighter with a helmet shield labeled "Engine 320 - Ladder 167" reading from a book "Bomb Disposal for Dummies". The though bubble above his head says "PUT DOWN BOOK. CALL POLICE. HMmmmmm..." Check it out if you have a chance to grab the paper. Once again, another way for the public to look down at the fire service
  13. that'd be funnier if it wasn't true!!!!!!!!!
  14. Pretty Damn interesting - and accurate
  15. The end result of Remember585 on the $hitter at the firehouse, and I'd be willing to bet NYTruckie ain't any better
  16. One thing I do know, Briarcliff FD-EMS responds to Archville's FD juristiction. I don't know specifics to this call, but was it an Ambulance, Chief, or Fire Apparatus that you saw?
  17. I don't think it's a bad idea. It'd be nice to see who some of the people are that we are talking to every day.
  18. Was that you I saw on the cover of Men's Fittness Magazine this month? Or was that chippendale's? Just messin with ya - I think DFFD227 has a pict or 2 of you.
  19. With the exception of our own parade, I think it has rained durring the day of every parade Croton has atteneded. They aren't going tonight, however, it looks like our luck will continue tommorrow with Mt Kisco ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)

  24. I've been working my side job in Somers out of the Lincondale house for almost a year now, and I didn't know until today that they had a spill trailer. Seems like a very nice resource to have. RES20CUE, or anyone else - care to share what is in it?
  25. As stated, numerous times, it is a courtesy light! Coureous people move out of the way to let us pass. I think this topic is a little old to be stirring up again ](*,) ](*,) ](*,)
