Wildland Firefighting In this game, you have to fly the water tanker plane over the lake, pickup the water, and drop it over the fire. The instructions are in another language, so here's what i've learned about it. Left arrow - slow down Right arrow - accelerate up arrow - decrease altitude down arrow - increase altitude space - drop water Some tips - do not fly into the birds, you will crash You will have to slow down before attempting to pick up water - use the speed gauge (one on the left) but don't drop into the red area or you will crash. The gauge on the right is your water. The meter up top in orange is the amount of fire left. You will keep "looping" over the lake and the fire until either you crash or extingush the fire. And when you go to make your drop, you do have to be close to the fire, you can't drop from the top of the screen and be effective. Also, it takes some finesse to maseter picking up the water, approach to fast, and you'll crash.

nah, he probably thought nothing would happen. Remember - he thought it was a dead round.

This is the new Mamaroneck EMS 68-10. 2005 PL Custom Medallion. More picts sent in to "Mr. Bravo"

Well, it only took 3 months of straightening out paperwork, but it's finally in service! Next time you hear an electric "Q" going down Mamaroneck Ave or Boston Post Rd, and you don't see a firetruck, you'll know what's coming!
-
Don't quote me on this, but I think Greenburgh PD has a collapse rescue unit associated with the technical rescue team. Perhaps someone could confirm this for me.
-
I forget the name of the place, but there's one on Mamaroneck Ave near Halstead Ave in Mamaroneck that I've been told is pretty good.

Anybody wanna buy a trailblazer??
-
Sure is
-
I believe it's the same deal - 06/06/06 - except this is once every 100 years instead of 1000 years
-
No, actually home!!!'

you've known me how long, and you're JUST realizing this????

Stolen from a Myspace bulliten: Pass it on!

I as well hope all 3 make a speedy recovery, but I just want to throw a thought in here from my personal experiences. If you get the fire knocked down, and you're going to cut the battery, if you can, try and unlock all the doors and pop the trunk first. It's not crucial, but at one car fire we did in croton, I cut the battery seconds before another firefighter tried to pop the trunk, and it made for a b**** of a time trying to get the trunk open. We wound up having to use a vent saw to cut the hinges to get it open. That added a lot of time to the operation. But ONLY DO IT IF IT DOESN'T AFFECT SAFTEY OF THE OPERATION!!!!
-
Croton is Dispatched by PD, as well as Ossining, Briarcliff, Chappaqua, Dobbs Ferry, and Tarrytown. I'm not sure if White Plains is PD or FD Dispatch, but they are another one. Fairview FD - Self-dispatched Also - Firefighter57 - Armonk is dispatched by North Castle PD, which is the PD that covers the area. (Same as Chappaqua being dispatched by New Castle PD)

Once again, my favorite line applies - you can't make this s*** up!

Skooter is 100% correct. I was very pleased with the benifit package when I worked there. Not quite as good as what I have with the county, they offered good health insurance, with a flexible spending account option, and a decent retirement plan.
-
Last I checked, they won't hire just drivers. Empire has been known to do that in the past, but I don't know if they still do. Most companies want someone who can tech and drive.
-
I neeeded a good laugh!! There's only one EMS company (around here anyway) that I know of that has a union. And From what I remember, the $10.50 was for both P/T and F/T - Don't quote me on it though.
-
For WEMS, as an EMT, I believe it was $10.50, EMT/Dispatchers, 11.50 an hour
-
See, there IS hope for anybody!!
-
WEMS has been hiring dispatchers with little or no medical training. While they don't make the best dispatchers sometimes, they can be trained. (We hope, lol) And as for experience, well, they've hired people who's ink was still wet on the EMT card.
-
WEMS has hired 18 year old EMT's, and I'm sure with the amount of people that have been moving on to different jobs, they'd be foolish to turn anyone down. I highly doubt that they will hire anyone under 18, and anyone who isn't an EMT, unless it was for a dispatcher position. (But you'd still need to be 18.) Thier business phone number is (914) 244-0382.

And Envoy = Trailblazer too, But AGAIN, Chevy is on the list and GMC isn't. That really gets me going. IT'S THE SAME FREAKIN' VEHICLE!!
-
Correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't the GMC Sierra and the Chevy Silverado almost the SAME EXACT TRUCK!?!?!?!?! Just goes to show how F***ed up automobile insurance is. Gotta love it.
