  1. IF the call came in via cell phone and was routed to 60 control by SP, they may have done the initial dispatch. Same happens with decent frequency in Armonk.
  2. Considering the area, are fire engine internals/pumps affected by salt water?
  3. I'm sure one could be made for one in the know. :-> Hey seth, loan me some space so I can give the woodchucks some buttons to push. :->
  4. ems-buff: if you know what you need and how to do it, you can probably just head down to your local Radio Shack and find/ask for the stuff you need. All scanners (to my knowledge) are mono so you could do what some do: splice two mono cords into one stereo plug and pipe one scanner into the left channel and one into the right (ScanCT.com does this). You can then fade left or right depending on what scanner you want to listen to/record. Any program capable of recording from the line in/mic in should be usable. I don't do this myself so I can't recommend any particular software. If you want a live feed to the net like ScanCT.com then you would need a lot more stuff. Easier for you would be to do what DFFD227 does and upload his files to a website. You can setup your own website (space can be had for as little a $5 a month, price increasing with space and features). Again, I can't recommend a particular webserver but if you google around you will find many and can shop around for the right fit for your needs.
  5. And it was only specific stations that chose not to air it. Bloody conservatives.
  6. Lewisboro Ambulance took delivery today of a new PL Custom Ford E-450 Extended Body ambulance. Thier old ambulance looks tiny in comparison. LVAC recently widened thier garage doors (along with a new no slip floor in the bays) to allow the wide mirrors to fit. This rig replaces a 1994 Horton Type III. Unknown what they have planned for it. http://www.westchesterems.org/gallery/New67B1
  7. Yeah...i was thinking the same thing. But hey, thier bus, thier graphics.
  8. Why do I have visions of some painter charging the master stream of the snorkel with Sears Weather Beater glossy and firing up a pumper to paint the exterior of a building in record time?
  9. I knew all that crystal meth he was snorting to remain so hyperactive would eventually catch up with him.
  10. Yup. I was on the blue team with the walk ons too. Wish I could remember everyone but alas I cannot. Next time you guys decided to play, let us know on here. I'm sure we can drum up a few more for a group. 8)
  11. Were you with the walkons? Or did you go with a group and have your own refs?
  12. The biggest joke here being the 911 PSAP without the ability to record incoming emergency calls.
  13. DMA327: Let me know when you guys are playing next. I need to get my marker refurbed (I think it needs some O rings replaced). Do you guys have an air station or do you just bring a boat load of full tanks?
  14. You might be a redneck Fire Department if some drunkard steals your fire truck and gets it stuck in the mud: Okay...so he wasn't a member, but heck...it's funny anyways.....
  15. Better link (but long) javascript: rs("videoWin","http://news.yahoo.com/p/v?u=/ap_av/20041105/av_ap_wl/f84c9312606ff6b6f075854a619f0fd9&cid=452&f=53746348",650,450); Cut and paste....the board doesn't seem to like it.
  16. #35 - You'e vehicle meets or (most likey) exceeds NYS DOH Part 800 and includes things that even the ambulance doesn't have.
  17. WEll, we're definatly on for tommorrow. I know of the core group from work is going (all three of us) and whomever else decides to join us. If you decide at the last minute to go and want to meet us up there, be at Liberty Paintball at 0830 hours. ORientation startts around then and we usually kick off around 9am. If you don't know me then you'll just have to guess. We'll most likeyl be with the walkons. http://www.libertypaintball-ny.com/ for more information.
  18. 20 bux? I dunno where you shop but i got a nice size antifog gel for 4 bux at a SCUBA shop. And like I said, you can just use a combo of water and liquid soap.
  19. Another trick from both SCUBA/Snorkeling and Paintballing: Get some antifog. You might be able to find it a local CVS. Or take a mixture of Liquid Soap and water and wipe the inside of your mask with it. The soap solution is relatively temporary but works well for fogging. Don't know if it will help with the condensation issues als mentioned.
  20. Wishful thinking.
  21. It's easy for people who aren't addicts to say that the guy should have just come forward. Remember the first step in recovery: admitting you have a problem. It's harder than most people think. And in the wake of 9/11 I'm sure the number of FDNY/NYPD personell who fell into drug use increased greatly.
  22. Walked outside last night on my way to work and the crispness of the air felt more like Christmas time than Halloween. Temp was 37degrees F. Could well have snowed then. It's comming. Just a matter of time.
