  1. Switch to Linux and OpenOffice. Not enough time for that? Have you tried a stand alone PPT viewer? Also check to make sure you have all the updates for both Windows Media Player and Offfice XP. If you need help locating updates, let me know. As a stopgap measure, can you get me a copy and I'll see if maybe it just doesn't need some fiddling to work with newer versions.
  2. If you do get some pictures, send em over to me and I can put em up on the site. Or give them to seth and he can put them up here.
  3. Gosh. I haven't worked Medic2 in ages. I might have to switch with Don on Thursdays and stop in for some redecoration. :->
  4. Yup. Remember it well. Check out www.tvtome.com for more information. http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/ShowM...et/showid-1988/
  5. Those are popular options in a lot of the new PL Customs lately. KBHVAC, LVAC, and I think MKVAC all have the same. Not sure about Somers.
  6. Time to think twice before hacking your Fire/EMS radio. There must be more to this story tho. I'll have to keep digging.
  7. Yup, you saw right. I'd actually budget more now that I rechecked the price. :-k

  9. I'd probably bedget at least 2 grand for the camera, accessories and a few good lenses.
  10. Probably because Santa isn't really a religious figure. Which makes you wonder what people have against christmas trees and lights.
  11. Which one, the Rebel or the newer Canon?
  12. I'm going to replace the push bar on the flycars with a Menorah, the LED lightbars with twinkling green and red lights, and make the siren play jingle bells. See if anyone gets pissy with THAT.
  13. Actually, he won SIX times. Lance is awesome. I hope people do more to find a cure than just wear some preppie band on thier arm, or ribbon on thier lapel.
  14. The other photos won't load because they screwed up the HTML code and it points to files on a local drive instead of a network location. Oopsey. Might want to notify thier webmaster. I'm too lazy.
  15. Consesus seems to be that the Rebel is a nice camera but falters in low light situations. It's not as versatile as the Nikon D70 which would be my pick for a personal SLR. Nikon also makes better lenses IMHO. HOWEVER, Canon has a newer camera that is an upgrade to the Rebel which overcomes a lot of the original's shortcomings. http://emtbravo.just5buckshosting.com/phpB...opic.php?t=2282 for more information.
  16. I wasn't waving at YOU. I mean waving at THEM! You think I'm stupid enough to wave like THAT to an ex-Marine who, as you said, could probably bend that finger fifty ways that weren't meant to be? PDT_Armataz_23 PS....nice icons EMTBRavo.....
  17. Could that be the one that Greenburgh runs? Try the GPD website. Or maybe they are a seperate entity.
  18. You don't wave? I wave. I may not use all my fingers, but I wave. 8-[
  19. the D70 and others are nothing compared to the higher end SLRs that the pros use. Those suckers go for 5000+. For the average use some basic tech can make for good pictures despite lack of talent, but it only goes so far. A good feel for the subject matter and composition goes much further along with knowing how to maniplate all those complex settings (something I need to learn how to do :-k ).
  20. I HOPE you aren't just going to sit there and do nothing. Get on the phone. CALL the chief and POLITELY report what you saw and your extreme CONCERN (not disappointment or distaste) for what you witnessed. Heck, record the phone call. If you are polite and professional in addressing him and he blows you off verbally or is rude, my next contact would be in writing with the editor of the Journal News. You'd be amazed how embarrassing a good letter to editor can be and who takes notice of it and what results shall come. But give the supervision a chance to make changes reactively before going down that route, at least as a courtesy.
  21. In related news: thieves broke into a building in White Plains and stole some equipment that routes 911 calls in Westchester. Several towns' PSAPs were down as a result. I'll post more if nobody else has.
  22. I was shocked when the Nextel at work actually WORKED while sitting on the table next to me in Lewisboro. My guess is the dropped leaves makes for slightly better reception. Or it could be the new i305 has better reception. My i1000 still sucks tho.
  23. IF anyone is interested, I'm putting together an impromptu group of people to go play Paintball at Liberty Paintball at Thunder Ridge Ski area in Patterson on November 6th. If you are interested, please email me here. Everyone of course is invited, the more the merrier. IF you have any genereal questions, please post them here so others can benefit from the information. Hope to see you there!
  24. Yeah. A few guy I know is going with a group of his coworkers who usually play. I'd love to go but I will be in New Jersey for the weekend. LEt me know how it is tho. I'd love to play a big game. Maybe in the spring. I hear it is a blast.
  25. tbendick's route seems to be the best for what you seek to do. To have three speakers off a jack normally meant for one would mean that you would in effect have 1/3 the volume going to each speaker. If your scanner has a decent internal amplifier, it MIGHT be able to pump out enough juice to be effective. But once you start running lengths of wire to distant points, you loose power in the resistance of the long lengths of wire. Try it without the amp and see if it works if you are tight on cash. Otherwise, get a small 25watt amp from the Rat Shack and go nuts.
