  1. Firefox and Opera are both excellent alternatives to IEeeeeeeee. I've been using Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox on an alternate OS for years. ITabbed browsing is the way of the future. I just hope Mozilla Foundation copyrighted/patented the idea so that M$ doesn't suck it up into thier browser. It's a major feature for FireFox and I love it. The plugins and new .XPI interface are also a big plus. Unfortunatly it's only a matter of time before the spammers realize that the firefox market is growing and that they should start utilizing holes in firefox as well. (To say if doesn't have any security flaws itself would be incorrect - but surely they'd be fixed a lot quicker being open sourced).
  2. Yeah, missed that one. Maybe they should sign him as a defensive lineman. =D>
  3. Do you have a more static URL? The WNBC index literally updates every few minutes.
  4. What a nice concept. Guns in schools.
  5. Well now, thats an interesting idea. Would the county dedicate a Bee-Line bus to use for rehab? I would definatly call in the Red Cross ASAP if there is any possibility of it being more than a 1 hour operation. They can usually assemble quickly and be there (from Yonkers usually) within 1/2 hour. They carry a good amount of fluids for oral resucitation (coffee, soups, crackers, etc). A large heated place like a bus tho is definatly advantageous to warm people up. I was outside earlier with no gloves and my hands froze in under 10 minutes. Any bare skin would need a good amoutn of thawing in these temps. And stuffing people in an ambulance doesn't quite cut it. I can only imagine what a nightware the Peekskill Fire would have been had it been 1 month later than it was.
  6. Yeah. Sodium Hypochloride + Ammonia = Chlorine Gas. Deadly in even small amounts. My guess is that it is Chlorine that is left over after the Draino Bomb explodes too making the area rather toxic. Now imagine some alcohol in the area. Suddenly the Chlorine Alcohol mixture spontaneously exploding. Bad double whammy.
  7. ******** does the same thing. Not sure if his official title is Janitor, but they have a paid guy on duty 8-4/5 days who responds to calls when needed. Not sure if he "punches out" to respond or not. And last time I talked to the Chief of ********, they have a paid guy on staff there during the day as well.
  8. I have done some looking on the web (google is your god) and have confirmed that Chlorine and any Alcohol are incompatible and will indeed cause an explosion. Now I have to assume they mean the gas, not the misnomer for Sodium Hypocloride (Bleach).
  9. And the best part is, usually both are found in the average household. Question is, does it really work. Some have speculated that that video is forged. Do Chlorine and Isopropyl Alcohol really cause an exothermic reaction when mixed?
  10. Yeah sure. And the Pope is Muslim.
  11. I'm betting that x635 would love to have something like that. He's beyond buffy, he's the poster child for buff.
  12. http://www.fordvehicles.com/autoshow/concept/synus/ How would this be for a new urban response vehicle?
  13. She's fit right in with some of the dummies coming through EMT/Medic school nowadays.
  14. Frankly, huge planes like this scare me. The bigger they are the harder they fall, cause what goes up must come down.

  16. http://www.wreckedexotics.com/newphotos/we.../weird542.shtml How do you think this cleanup went? I bet there were a LOT of drunken people after this one. :->
  17. http://www.wreckedexotics.com/newphotos/ex...50103_001.shtml This is definatly my favorite. =D> #-o
  18. Plus in the seedier areas of town, who would want to be the only one on scene in some of these places?
  19. I've always wondered....how does one one really find a good fit of a shoe online? Do they give you some way to size your foot?
  20. Okay....well, the fat lady hasn't sung yet, but I feel a train coming. And it's got the STEELERS splattered all over it. 10-10 going into the half (would have been 13-10 if they had a few more seconds) and 17-10 now.....I can feel the LOVE!
  21. Nope. I was just a peon EMT back then.
  22. So true! It's amazing how many calories you can cut just by dropping soda and drinking something else, like water.
  23. Yeah. ALS gear alone doesn't weight down a vehicle, the extra crap people jam in there does. We used to operate a supervisor car in White Plains at Abbey that was a Ford Crown Vic (I believe). I got Richey and his gear around just fine. All the gear was in the trunk. Secure and easily accessible. Sure everyone says we need 4x4 for ALS flycars nowadays. Back then we just threw on chains and went.
  24. I think they were still running the old E-4 from sloper down there as a flycar. I remember when Sloper bought that thing USED from an office employee back in 1996. (It was the newest of the K5 Blazers).
