  5. I also agree that using an engine for FAST ops. is a good idea because you can spec your rig to fit so much equipment on it that it wouldn't matter if you used a rescue or a ladder truck. You can always use ladders off of other engines or ladders on scene as well. As long as there aren't ladders laying all over the ground doing nothing. It's nice to use a ladder as a FAST truck but around our area ladder's aren't as frequent as in big cities. So i believe that using an engine is the best piece of apparatus for FAST ops.
  6. Well i think a Truck would be a good great for FAST operations because it would have most of the equipment on it already. However you can store all the equipment you need on an engine and use ladders at the scene from a truck if you need them. More importantly engines are more readily available than ladders and there are more of them. Usually you would put your most qualified personnel on a FAS Team so having Truckies should not matter. In my department there are members from each different companies on the FAS Team so it wouldn't matter.
