  1. Thanks Seth: If you could make a quick mention of the residency thing that would be great. That would kinda stink if there were no exceptions to out of the area
  2. Going with what ALS said... If you have ESS Extrication goggles...DO NOT wear them into a fire...big mistake! Happened to someone i knew, ruined his helmet!
  3. So if you have a National firefighter I and II but your not a resident, you cannot get the job? That blows!
  4. I have a bunch of stickers, a flag, a 9/11 sticker and a *585* in memory of fallen firefighter Lt. Mike Neuner from Brewster FD, and my company work sticker "Engine 119 Croton. Gotta decorate alittle lol
  5. AWESOME....Family tradition in the fire service Thats cool tho
  6. Well we got rid of the horns in my dept. and we only set of the house sirens when the dispatchers do it correctly, but many firemen used to find that when we had horns and sirens all the time, people would know firemen were going to a call and to expect blue lights running around town. Now nobody knows and not many people even know what a blue light is, or what the authority of it is. They are also great for when you out somewhere without a pager and hear the sirens going cause u know there's a call. Can't keep the pager on in church or places of that nature but if u heard them blowing a general alarm on the horns and u knew it might be the real deal and get going to the firehouse. I hope they stay in communities Seth... =D> As for these mutha f**** yuppies....hahaha HATE EM"
  7. Nice to have an american flag sewn on to the coat!
  8. NOT I! LOL I'd put flames
  9. You cannot always garuntee the pagers going off every single time and all it takes is once!
  10. I have always found horns and house-sirens to be great for knowing there is a run when your out working in a yard using a lawn mower or a chain saw. It gives you another way of listening. Maybe when the condo goes up and nobodys' pagers work and they stop the use of the horns.... uh-oh better luck next time! ](*,)
  11. Ahhh... Beverages at a fire scene are always the job of the IC to form a group of people on scene for planning and logistics!
  12. Another sad story as another brother is killed in yet another tragic accident which most likely could have been prevented. Rest in Peace. Prayers for families of people who knew him......
  13. Well if you're talking about tools that will get you out of a tangle, then they should be on ur right side so you can always keep your left hand free. If your gonna be taking your air pack off, your gonna need you left hand to keep a hold of your low pressure air hose As for an elevator key, thats a great idea
  14. Croton Just received an ALF not too long ago. Many many problems!
  15. I never got the need for a 1750 GPM pump, no need for that!
  16. well apparently from what i hear, a lot of city firemen have the same problems so maybe the show is on course but it does make firemen look bad. But like DG said anyone can have these problems if they're having a rough time coping with some issues.
