  1. On the main emtbravo.com page, the links all lead to a lohud.com story instead of the intended target.
  2. Yep, that's happened to me, and of course it's the dispatcher who also works with me part time
  3. The Fall 2007 DCC EMT-B class location is City Fire, doesn't state which station, but Main is the only station I could imagine it being at.

  5. Well, it's not a life safety issue, I was just pointing it out
  6. Only one I know of is City of Poughkeepsie FD, I'm not sure if they still have them.
  7. Chief officers are supposed to be the only volunteers who use red lights.
  8. Anytime I get on a fire apparatus for any firematic alarm, I completely don all PPE, hoods on, collar up, tools, TIC, high-rise pack where applicable, etc. Consider all size up factors. A fire alarm is a fire alarm even if it's 3 am and the same college dorm we always go to. Complacency kills.
  9. Interesting, last time I did a transport to WMC I saw them responding to a nearby building, I was wondering if they were a campus brigade.
  10. I just dropped Nextel two weeks ago for Verizon. Terrible phone service. RWC, one of my friends tried to call 911 and got the old "System Busy Try Later 22". He canceled his contract immediately after the system stopped being "too busy" for an emergency call.
  11. I applaud them for keeping their fleet so current, 71 and 75 are only five or six years old, arent they?
  12. Background checks won't help much if there's a first time offender. And I wonder if all of these people who do this really have psychiatric problems or if they are just idiots with no respect for the fire service and our reputation.
  13. First time I've heard of something like this. Combination Engine/Ambulance. Can't say that I personally find it to be a great idea. Thoughts? http://www.rosenbaueramerica.com/ClassLibr...PORT_PUMPER.pdf
  14. $15-$25 an hour?! WOW, maybe I'll start commuting to Stamford if they'll triple my pay.
  15. Too much pride/nonsense and not enough central county organization. You can write whatever you want on your ambulance in Dutchess County, but it needs to have XX-71 on it and you may only address Dispatch as XX-71. It's that simple.
  16. Is that two preconnected hand lines, two preconnected hydraulic tools, a monitor and a floodlight? Did I miss anything else?
  17. Probably about 99% of guys I see don't use the chin strap, even worse they wear it behind their head on top of the rear brim. Which to me is kind of like not buttoning your coat, why even bother wearing it.
  18. We send two engines (500gal) to a car fire. Just to be sure we have adequate manpower and/or water. Second due can always be cancelled.
  19. At first, hated it. After some thought, I liked how it built up, thinking Tony would get killed or busted and nothing happened. Plus, playing Journey on a jukebox has gotta be the best way to end a series.
  20. http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/album/24606045elBWQmyoIl a few pictures of their other apparatus
  21. The current Station 2 is pretty close to being condemned from what I've heard. Anyone know what they are going to place in that third bay? Just the reserve engine and rescue? Or are they going to place an additional manned rig in service?
  22. Highland, Modena and I think Clintondale.
  23. I don't have a camera, but yeah, took delivery of three Chevys, AEV I believe. They are okay, a little bigger, quieter than the F-350. Personally, I think they are the ugliest things I've ever seen, cosmetically but whatever gets the job done. Though I wish someone would send management the pics of the new Empress rigs Edit: For any buffs with scanners, new rigs are Medic 4, 6 and 7.
