This is always a hot topic... all I suggest is to act polite and professional, most cops will use common sense... some may react differently, but in the latter I would offer to simply delete the images and move on...

I was down there is January when it was still yellow, and the crew in the shop were going over their plans. I will look for some old pictures pre-reno.

Everyone I know works OT just to make ends meet. Most people only see the big money for public servants, and fail to understand the long hours and personal sacrifices made to earn those wages. I make NOTHING compard to many of the people I see riding the train to and from Manhattan.

Unions are losing their power ALMOST everywhere outside of the area we work in. But in all fairness the management of GM and the other giants have have done more than their share of ruining their businesses. Sure hey can complain about their retirees, but since they chose to maintain their own pension plans they also have a hand in the mismanagement of it.

It's OK, the LIN4's on the grille could have been hidden better or simply eliminated. Sure for small town V&T it's nice, but if someone tries stopping me on some backwoods road (like in Newtown), I would call 911 before stopping to make sure it wasn't some wannabe.

Do they still have the colored lenses or clear? I could only find an old pic.

I watched the video numerous times with other cops and we considered a variety of reasons for the tackle, none of which were legitimate. Maybe something happened off camera? Maybe it was..........

After 20 years as a police officer I must say, while we're often treated like crap, I enjoy much better benefits and working conditions than I did in the previous 10 years in EMS. EMS hasn't improved like the police and fire services with wages and benefits, and is treated like a redheaded step child of emergency services. Sure I enjoyed the week, that's right the whole 7 days after 9/11 when people would stop and say "thanks" or applaud as we walked to and from ground zero. A week later it all started again, slowly as people moved on and remembered how much they dislike the police. So, THANK YOU EMT'S and PARAMEDICS!!! You do so much for so little, know I sincerely appreciate you for it.

I know the results are in and IAB/Applicant Unit has them but for some reason(s) they are waiting to make notifications. As far as rumors they are out of control and I don't see any good to add them here. Keep the faith...

Currently I have a Uniden 760XLT in the kitchen, scanning the local FD and EMS stuff. This seems to be less annoying for the rest of the family who only care to listen when something big is going down. I have a couple of portable scanners a Uniden BS250D with the apco-25 card and a Radio Shack Pro 96 which I rescued from the trash last week. My uncle had thrown it away and told me he got it from another cop he works with and it was broken. Well 4 AA batteries and a new antenna and it works fine for me. I have been reading the manual I downloaded and think this is much easier to program than the BC250D. I have used Butel Pro and Radio Reference, but still don't fully understand talk-grounds and trunking. I have been considering a Uniden BCD996T for my car, but with the FREE po-96 may wait a while and see how this works. I did get an antenna for my car and it improves the range. I also have boxes of old stuff out in the garage, I think a 210XL and several Motorola portables.

If you're an explorer I would also suggest getting a nice scanner which you can program yourself and monitor a broad range of agencies and across more frequency ranges. A portable could get you into trouble.

Depends on your attitude and mine at the time. That's just me though I work with a whole bunch of people who lack social skill and would write anybody.

Our contract specifies 2 officers in all boroughs of NYC between 20:00 and 08:00. Everywhere else is solo patrol. Personally I like to be solo, that way I do what I do without a nagging partner. It's like in Mother Juggs and Speed...
