What refusing mutual aid? Do they have a preplanned M/A program like here in Westchester? If so then why be on the program in the first place if you can't/won't provide the protection that was put in place before an incident happens? I'm not trying to stir the pot but i am just REALLY curious about the above post.

I have been going through some serious withdrawals these past couple of days. Please fix this problem for good! Also does anyone else have a problem when you go to todays active topics and there is the little orange box the lets you know if there has been any new posts. Sometimes I have read the last post in topics and when I go back to the page all the orange boxes are back up and no one else has posted anything new. No big deal but I just wanted to know if that happens to anyone else.

I seem to have trouble with the site when I am at the firehouse. I can get to the emtbravo.com page but after I click on anything else I get "This page cannot be displayed"

Oh ok thats what I thought but just wanted to make sure. Thank you capt. I couldn't agree anymore with this statement. It's sad but people just don't want/have time to volunteer anymore therefore more career guys are taking over. I'm not saying its a bad thing but it's just sad people just don't do it anymore. I know I am young but I remember going down to the firehouse when I was a kid and seeing 3 full trucks go out the door every time the alarm went off and constantly seeing a large number of people at the firehouse at all times of the day and night. It's just not the same anymore.

I agree with your points here. I don't think it's nessary to respond to any of those calls lights and sirens its just ridiculous. My personal opinion is that if you are responding to an automatic alarm that you go to 5 times a week the first due engine should respond lights and siren and the rest of the incoming apparatus should be responding non emergency mode until the first unit on scene reports either a working fire or declares there is an actual emergency. As for people responding lights and siren to cover another departments station if there is no job holding for you why put yourself and the public in danger. You're going there to SIT in someones station thats not an emergency.

How long does it usually take the live support team to get back to a message? I sent in a request to the live support about 3 weeks ago and STILL have not heard back from anyone has anyone else had this problem? Is this normal? I'm sure they are busy but 3 weeks seems kind of long to me. I will ask this question to the general public maybe one of you guys can help me. I wanted to know how do I quote either 1 or 2 sentences of a post and how do I quote multiple posts in my 1 post? Hope that makes sense. Thank you in advance for anyone who can help me.

The one difference I see is that newspapers SELL the paper where as this site is free to use and view. I think it's mainly because of the whole using the picture to make money aspect of it.

I am in charge of my departments fire prevention this year and I found the stickers being sold from this company Positive Promotions. They no longer suggest having the stickers put on the outside of the window but now are telling people to put them on the bottom corner of the child's door to his bedroom inside the house. I never knew why but I guess that is a good reason. People in this world are sick and it amazes me how these crazy f**** think. Sorry but that makes me absolutely sick to hear something like that.

Is it true that the gates with key pads if you hit 911 the gate will open? I've heard this before but don't know how true it is b/c I've never tried it.

My boss got into an accident on 287 this winter in the middle of a snow storm he ended up rear ending the person in front of him because he hit the brakes and slid right into someone that was a good 300-400 ft in front of him and the state trooper wrote him a ticket for following to close. He ended up pleading not guilty to the ticket when he went to court and the judge dropped the ticket. So it is hard to prove something like that I guess.
