This is a truly one of a kind. 1939 Ahrens Fox BJQ. Fairview FD Quad 1. Saw service 1939- 1972? Sold to private collector who let it fall into disrepair. Now owned by another collector who started to restore but this has been sitting for 10 plus years. photos courtesy JWF

Are the facts know on if braking down the door had anything to do with the loss of life or are we just making a 1000 replys posts on the subject. Did the house have working smoke detectors? Was it up to standards? A few years ago my son and his room mates were looking for off campus housing at Marist. I took one look at the structure and found it a death trap in waiting. Needless to say they did not move in. Get the facts let's not Monday morning quarterback. A sad day for Marist and the brothers at FFD.

Boy what moxie. Then why did the white water rafters go into the river ? They put the rescuers at risk. I see no post by the FD that they were making rescues along the Saw Mill. That's no bull. In upstate NY the county declared a ban on boating during the storm. Maybe Westchester should take a cue from Broome county. Some people have too much to say and should refrain from posting until they count to 10.

Maybe Im getting old, but why is there incident alerts for every mundane car accident that is encountered. If there was a post for every MVA in Westchester it would take days to read same. the same goes for "WORKING" fires. As my mentor Joe Friday sez "Just the facts"

How about having the Fire Districts do a study how to correct the court problems. They can probably do a better job than the butcher , baker and candlestick maker studying the fire districts

While a recent business trip to the sunny shores of Florida found this at Palm Beach State College training center. Nice sun roof.

The vast majority of FIRE calls come via 7 digit emergency number. You have no idea how it works.

Get your facts straight the officer lineup is nothing like your post. The self dispatch saves time.

As one who experienced the third party dispatch there was delays in dispatching, lack of local knowledge to name a few. It comes down to time the more people handling the call the delay in response. County dispatching did improve response for those agencies who had a mismatch of call taking from a answering service in White Plains who would dispatch for a local dept or Police setting off siren and waiting for FD to respond and then tone out. I'm sure this will draw a heated debate.
