I believe there should never be a rmp manned by 1 officer. Some will say it costs way too much to staff but I also think more officers lives would be saved if backup were sitting next to him/her. Also now with a 2 officer team, more firepower ie,AR-15,shotgun could be at an officers fingertips instead of locked up in the trunk of the vehicle. I have even heard that some departments have been discouraged from wearing outer body armor type vests because they look too menacing to the public. Personally I don't care what the public thinks too many officers are being shot and injured or killed.

Date:1-10-08 Time:15:45-16:30( somewhere in between) Location: Started @ Pugsley Park & Howard St Frequency: 460.100 Units Operating: Multiple Peekskill PD Units Description Of Incident: Caller states black male, black coat, black du-rag, blue jeans around park with a possible (10-56) Person w/gun Peekskill PD 258 gave chase to suspect that displayed silver handgun taken from waistband. Officers chased suspect up Paulding St, then to Orchard St, and finally caught the suspect in a yard on Frost Ct. Suspect was taken into custody and transported by CAR 258 to PPD HQ. The weapon was later found by PD units when they retraced there steps. Writer: PCVAC7516
