1. People who think that paid FFs are 'real FFs' and volunteer FFs are not 2. The judges on "American Idol" 3. Anyone who under-estimates me 4. People who forgot how to drive I have more but I can't think of them right now...

An ex-member of my company used to be a volunteer in the Aviation company before moving up to Westchester. One night, we had nothing to do, so he took me to their firehouse. It was probably around 22:00HRS and there were at least 10 to 15 firemen there. For the somewhat small area they cover, they do an awsome job!

and there it is...117 years old.

I should have wrote "exact same height" to be more clear. Of course not the same non-fire retardant structures. I also like the idea of building them one floor higher. =D>

I think they should build the same exact buildings again, but with a huge memorial park in the center. We shouldn't have to worry about any terrorists in our great country of ours.

Today(4/27/05) at around 20:15, I heard on and off static and what sounded like a man with a middle eastern accent talking on 46.26 on my pager and my scanner. Pelham had a fire call around this time and the dispatcher asked the Pelham unit to repeat because he was 'stepped on'. Anyone else hear that?

lol...how'd you guys get involved with that one?

good idea...then they'll have time for shows that don't involve some kind of contest.

if someone slips and falls on that apron, you're screwed though.

It's kind of like the Westchester Co. Airport. It is really in Harrison(HPN), but on your ticket it says White Plains, and all commercial fire alarms and EMS calls are covered by Port Chester and Rye Brook and aircraft emergencies are covered by Armonk, Purchase, and Port Chester/Rye Brook.

It sounds good if you might be short on manpower. You won't really need to worry about having someone there to hit the hydrant.

I've never heard anything go bad in the burn building at WCFTC. It is very controlled environment and the guys that run it are know exactly what they're doing. But back to the original question: Maybe it's just a county thing? does anyone else know?

Yeah...wake up at 6:00AM...be at work by 7:30AM...get sweaty and greasy all day til 5:00PM!! I hate it!

I used to pick up the repeater channels like it is just 46.26. I used to be able to hear Buchanon portables loud and clear from Port Chester. Now I don't hear anything on any of the repeater channels(on TX or RX frequencies). And one channel is just a constant squelch noise with an open mic sound.
-
I've never seen an ambulance at the burn building when I was training in there...maybe because the Medical Center is right there?
-
Isn't there an engine from Pleasantville with one...an old ALF?
-
I'm not pickin up anything over the repeater channels anymore
