Come support Live Oak Engine Company as they host, The 1st Annual Tyler Rush Car and Truck Show. The show is Oct 21 and registration starts at 8 am. Fire trucks are welcome at the show and will have there own category.

They were working in the boiler room when something went wrong and they had a gas feed fire. The DFFD did a great job making a great stop with no damage to any rigs

OK, so first it was not a CO call. It was originally an EMS call. A female called up stating she was having a stroke. When EMS arrived they found the female's husband unresponsive on the floor, so they were providing care to two pt's. EMS was on scene by themselves for approx 20 min before they notified FD due to an odor that they noticed in the residence. FYI all the OVAC members were treated (including hyperbaric chamber) and released for CO related symptoms. It is my personal feeling that all EMS should carry CO detectors or multi gas meters to prevent incidences like this from happening in the future. Thankfully, no EMS members were seriously injured or killed.

Its a 6 month min untill they call you just be patient and also try working some where else in the mean time to get some experience

Today the Ardsley fire department hosted the first battalion 14 one pitch tournament. The tournament was a great success with only four teams it went fast. I am trying to get a idea if people would want to do a county wide battalion tournament each battalion has a tournament and then the winners play each other.

It really blows you have no clue what you are going and plus everyone and their mother is going on the boxes. A gas leak is now a haz mat call and your getting 3 and 2 rescue squad and their second unit and haz mat unit and haz mat battalion its unreal. The other day we went on a structural fell it turned out to be a person fell on the train track. This is going to get someone killed.

Yes we can conduct decon if need, but that i left you to the haz-tac bus or the fire boys. The another reason that FDNY EMS got turnout gear is because the department got a lot of money form the homeland security fund and they said they where going to take the money away if they didn't start sending it so we got the new gear and the whole department is all Haz-Mat awareness. The reason that the gear is tan and not black is to sperate EMS and Fire, any private unit that operates with in the NYC 911 EMS system also has to have them. The reason that we have to wear the gear on the MVAs is because of the fluids, and glass.

FDNY EMS has turn out gear. It is tan and it is two parts a coat and pants. You have to wear it on all MVAs, any really bloody calls, fires, and any other MCIs that we responded to. They are really nice to wear.

Come one come all to barbeque night at the Ogden Fire house on ashford ave in dobbs ferry. The barbeque is on july 22and starts at 4 and go it whenever. It is 10 buck per person for all you can eat. Kids under 10 years old are free.

How come in westchester their is no live in members departments ? First let me start out by saying what a live in member is. You live at the firehouse. You eat , sleep, shower all at the fire house. This ever big down in maryland it is a great idea it helps to cut down response time and also it helps younger members learn more responsablity. I go down and ride with a department in maryland let me tell you it is great. Thier are so many benifits to having live in members. One response time will be cut down. Also it will help to to encourage recruitment in your department. I know that in the department that i ride with in maryland and after talking to many other departments that have live-in members that the live-in or bunker crews do not have to pay rent which is huge the only thing is that you have to a full-time job or be a full time college student. Think about all the money that you could save if you did not have to pay rent. This would be a great thing to happen to westcheter if we got live-in members or bunker crews plus you could also make one kick a** department to. This is just some food for thought.....I would love to hear everyones OWN THOUGHTS about thid
