does any one know when the list for the FDNY test that was cive last year coming out

Both Departments I think need to have a squad and the reason that NR did not put it on is because they still follow the county way of lettering. Yonkers on the other hand does not care they do it thier way. Personally I think that the whole squad thing that the county has is not a good thing. The county squads are haz-mat teams and that it. If you look at any other county a squad is a resuce engine or a resuce. The county really needs to change this and fix it right.

Alright i like the truck but those dam v bars lights got to go. I would also have liked to see squad 22 instead of engine 22. But the truck over all is a good looking truck i wish them best of luck with the new Engine.

What are your feelingds about Mini Attacks ? What should they be used for ? What calls should they run ? Personaly I like these rigs. I think that they are a perfect rig to run on brush fires, Accident calls, and to use on EMS a QRS truck. I stead of taking a big huge engine to a ems call you can take a 4 door mini pumper that has all the tools that u need on a EMS call. Second if you get a call for a brush fire these rigs are perfect you can get this rig closer to the fire then a big bulky engine. The best example of this type of rig is Yorktown MA-8 which is a great rig. It has seating for Four Firefighters it has a pump and a good amount of room to fit gear in. The only change that I would make to the rig is to add a box to the top of the rigs body to add for more storage space. What do u think I really would like to know what everyone thinks ? Just remenber that this is YOUR OPINION and they are like a******* everyone has one.

i think that their should be a county wide fire system with one central dispatching system and each department should be # like the way that they do i rockland, Prince George County MD, or like the way they do it in Delaware County PA. this makes it a lot easier when giving out # for rigs and could also be linked to the county ems system suggested by 801 and RWC130

Lets not forget the new complex that is plan on being bulit. They might add a 1-1 which means that they would have to bulid another house and I think that the new house should house a squad instead of a standard engine. This would be a good idea becuase they could also cover the thruway by Stew. By using a squad they don't lose a engine and it means that if their was a house fire in the new complex then they have a 1 and 1 response to the new complex which is big.

When is the high band county-wide system going to be operating. Hopefully this will help when doing mutal-aid because it will be easier to assign a channel and you can have multi incdents going on at once.
