Money getting shipped to Africa to top it all off? Mike
-
Obviously this thing requires disciplinary action, but to go one step further and disband ESU when some of them (hopefully) weren't involved! WTF! He has somethin stuck in his feces hole. Maybe it's his COMMON SENSE!!!! Mike

66% Giuliani 60% Biden 60% Romney (side note: the same person who I hated as governor shares 60% of his views with me! ) Now I cannot vote next year, but who cares, it'll show who shares my beliefs. Immigration Issue: "If anybody is here illegally, they should never get to be put ahead of a line of people that are here legally. They should have to pay a penalty, because there should not be amnesty. It's a civil wrong. Civil wrongs are compensated by paying penalties. They should pay the back taxes. And if you ultimately find a way to make them citizens, then there should be a very, very strong requirement that they speak English, read English, write English, and understand American history. " -RG I'm with him on that. Mike

Here you go: How FDNY got it's name Mike

If we can refrain from the "Black Eye" comment, does that mean i can say it's a "Black Bruise" instead? Mike

Just saw this topic, and thought I would provide some additional info. Units moving into station when it opens: Engine 6 (former firehouse WILL close) Ladder 1 (1999 KME Tower will be switched with the 2006 Smeal RM) Rescue 1 (actually not sure, only know it was planned to go there, I have no other info on it) This station was to be a new headquarters to relieve the stress on the current HQ on Grove St. Plan was to have administrative offices and Cars 1,2, and 3 there. However, due to a tight budget, it isn't coming to fruitition, although administrative offices are moving there when it opens. Mike

Paging FF Partyrock....paging FF Partyrock, Report to this thread! Mike

YAHOO!!!! Ship 'em back to NY, Red Sox Nation has spoken, and they don't want A-Rod. In fact, I can hear the chants out in Boston "We want Lowell back!" and "We want Schilling back!" The second chant won't work though, it's time for him to either retire or become a pitching coach for the BoSox. Mike

Has happened to me multiple times, and everytime i figured it was you tinkering with the site. Mike

Alright, I'm not sure if this is happening down in NY, but malls are already being decked out in Christmas stuff. IMHO, why the hell do we have to have Christmas stuff and sales out before Thanksgiving????? I understand Christmas stuff on 'black' Friday (named for profits, not LODD's) but before Thanksgiving, c,mon. They even had the 'Photo with Santa' booth out and open! Sorry for the rant, but anybody else feel like this is too much? Mike
-
BUMP. Anybody else have a gripe like this they want to type about? Mike
-
when does an apparatus have too many uses? To honestly answer that, one would need to look at their call volume. I'm sure Seth and others will shine some good light on this. Mike

According to firenews.org, they have two motorcycles, and they're Kawasakis, not Harleys. I cannot back this up my own evidence since I've never been out to Nantucket. Mike
-
I consider Black Friday more hazardous than a riot, so guess what I do that day? Homework! Mike

How about badges? Up to 3 choices depending on the member's job as vollie, cop, etc, or what service they want to be in whether it be fire, ems, or Police. Mike

The T-Rex thing looks like it could make a good Fly car, no? Only an idea Mike
-
No, white top with red and an elevating stripe like this: wins hands down! and no it isn't because it's a Seagrave with that color scheme! Mike
-
I like Cpage's idea. Just simplify it to the homeland security scale colors. Mike
-
Does it include a waterfall?????? If the mirrors weren't out and down like that and instead out and up, it wouldn't look bad, but the mirrors just kill off the looks of it. Mike

Thanks for rthe explanation Goose, although I doubt I'll be the guy to go around the corner, it's just not safe to do that. As for my grandpa, he's lost it. We really have to monitor his diabetes, since his ex-wife is in Florida and his life-in drunk halfbutt son ain't helping (I'm sad to say that he's my uncle!) Mike
-
So if I'm in NY (or Lake George, more specifically) I can't help my mother or grandpa with their glucometers? Only an EMT and up can do it????? Mike

With 400 meter fires/year, I'd say the risk is pretty low, BUT nonetheless, STILL THERE. But anyway you look at it, Electric Meters are hazardous: you mess with them without the proper precautions, you're as good as dead. (Although I'm pretty I'm whippin' a dead horse here) Mike
