If nothing else sketchy is going on from the part of Kentland, I say they're in the right. If a fire department doesn't want to provide EMS, they shouldn't be forced into doing it, County Chief or not. Their members will be running the ambulance, so if they don't want to do it, they shouldn't have to. Strong arming Kentland is not the way to go, the County Chief now just looks like a child having a temper tantrum.

The National Guard will be stretched thin if a REALLY big one ever hits, so maybe WCDES should think about one... They truely can't be that expensive. Anyone in a low-lying area or one that has alot of lakes/streams/rivers/etc should have a plan for high water rescue, and this seems like the easiest route to go, no need for trailering boats or anything like that, just a matter of getting the truck(s) to the scene and working safely off of them.

Here in New Fairfield, CT we've had nothing but rain for the past 12+ hours and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. I'm getting the 3/4 boots ready for pumpouts...

One of our guys who moved here from Kisco was all about this website and showed it to us, as well as our Chief of Department, so I took a look at it and got hooked... I suppose worse addictions could be had. Note: to anyone who has Facebook there is a group known as "I check EMTBravo once a day" Found that kind of fitting...

Its my AIM screenname, but I came up with it because Sage means green and Vigiles were Roman watchmen commissioned to protect the city from fire... Green Fireman essentially... because, as X635 will attest to, real firetrucks are green...

I had no idea there was a fully equiped 7th Rescue rig... I thought there was only the 6th. By the way, question on that, who mans R6? Off duty callups from the other rescues or SOC personnel on duty?
-
What are they doing with the old Rescue 6 then (Spirit of Oklahoma)? Another spare or does it get put to some other use?

I hate Don Imus more than anyone, he's boring and a horrible radio personality, but this issue is bigger than him. First Amendment? Que es? Sharpton needs someone to knock him off his soap box, preferably by way of a Louisville Slugger... Racist scumbag.

Thanks, I'll try that... What would you suggest in place of your hot glue mistake? Rubber cement or crazy glue?

I'm looking to join West Haven Volunteer Fire in the fall when I go to school at UNH, anybody have any information on their fleet? Pictures would be appreciated but descriptions would suffice.

What did you use for the scratch built body? How did you mold it?
-
Still looking for pictures if anyone has them.

We go to Danbury Hospital... its a trauma center so we don't ever have to worry about going further. About 15-20 minutes away.

Our department allows officers to use POVs to respond to scene. Anyone above the rank of 2nd Lieutenant gets an in-car radio. Assistant Chiefs, EMS Assistant Chief, and OEM Director get lightbars and sirens. Other than that its just a normal civilian car...

How does one create a kitbash body for a vehicle (an Engine or square-tanker specifically) I'd love to get into this hobby, but I have no idea where to start. Any help or links would be appreciated.

Our new tanker is completely LED, minus the headlights, scene lights, flood lights, and directional stick. We turn nighttime into day with that thing...
