My town has ordered 2 of them (New Fairfield, CT) and when I asked the officer how he liked them, he said he thought they were great, plenty of room for the officer, just not alot of room for the suspect. My opinion: If you don't like it, don't get arrested...

Well Blackwater can't technically be brought up on any charges by the Iraqis, since they are immune to Iraqi law (read about it, can't remember where for the life of me.) However the Dept. of State could not move their diplomats in Iraq by land for the past few days because of the ban on Blackwater, so they have been let back for "limited duties." DoD hired the company, let them do their jobs without hassling them. They are mercenaries, they are SUPPOSED TO KILL PEOPLE!

Yes it is possible. I'm majoring in Fire Science right now and I'm thinking about picking up a minor in Criminal Justice, Public Affairs, Occupational Safety and Health, or something along those lines, but you could really find a minor in anything under the sun. Or you could minor in Fire Science... Theres a college out there somewhere with anything you'd want, you just have to put in the effort to find it.

News reports saying the perp is dead at the hands of Miami-Dade Police... nice shooting by whomever took the guy down. He was found with an AK-47. Street justice. My thoughts and prayers are with the injured and deceased officers families, and I hope the 3 injured have a speedy recovery.

They should try to set up some kind of FDNY Strategic Airlift Command, where they can pick up rigs and drop them off to emergency scenes to avoid dealing with traffic, I'm sure it could lower inter-borough response times during high-traffic hours. [/sarcasm] Seriously though, I could understand having 1 recon bird, maybe a USED ex-military one, but what tactical purpose could more than one helo serve? There wouldn't really be any reason to have an aviation unit that could do water rescues, as NYPD and USCG already have that covered, nor a need for medical airlifts, as there are so many hospitals in the city that it would probably be a longer drive to a suitable LZ than it would be to a suitable trauma center. I'm sorry, I just can't understand why they would need this so badly. A helicopter would be entirely too big to fly through city streets get close to any sort of incident, so the only real purpose is for recon IMHO.

I check EMTBravo.com daily for new photo updates and as an easy way to look at the new incident alerts. More photos with easier access to the member photos would be my suggestion.

As of today, the new station is dedicated, the rig is in, and the crew has graduated the CT Fire Academy.
