I don't think it was so much management as it was the State Office of Emergency Medical Services coming in to do an audit of their responses after numerous complaints of response times GREATER than 30 minutes.

All I have to say is thank God. NMVAC definitely needs the help, their call volume is increasing and it seems that they can't get a crew out to more and more calls. Hopefully this will take some of the pressure off their mutual aid departments who have to cover alot New Milford's runs.

New Fairfield uses a Horton, they are heavy boxes, and our previous one had ALOT of electrical problems. Having driven them, I can't say I'm impressed.

Bridgeport has at least one for a K9 unit, seems like thats what they would be best suited for. Plenty of room for the partner and all.

NHPD has arrested the parties involved in the domestic. WTNH Its one of the headlines.

Chief Richard Ligi of the Ridgefield, CT Police Department passed away this morning. Connecticut's law enforcement community has suffered another tragic loss. Rest in Peace Chief.

I was flipping through the channels earlier and on Fox News there was video of some people drinking on a patio bar in the rain in Galveston, who wanted to wait the storm out... Some people you just can't reach... Darwin Award.

Link to the incident thread: http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=27485 My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and comrades of Sgt. Aponte, who made the ultimate sacrifice after colliding with another cruiser at approximately 2330 last night. Best luck and wishes to Officer Diane Gonzales, who is still in extremely serious condition. Thank you both for your sacrifice. Captain Alex Cardella Badge #907 Danbury Police Explorers Post #33

7th Grade Pre-Algebra is when they announced it over the loudspeaker, but they said it was a plane crash that had hit the building, they didn't inform us it was an attack to keep it from being a panic.

ESU and EMS respond for the report of an EDP... Nutjob.
-
Service details have been posted: Aponte’s wake will be 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church on George Street.

Just got back from the UNH rememberance walk for 9/11. God bless everyone who died that day, you will never be forgotten.

I agree with 791, the senior man and/or company officer have the primary responsibility to train probies. However, the group approach is probably the best way, since a new firefighter could be paired with anyone on the company, he may not be with his actual "FTO" when the fecal matter hits the rapidly rotating climate control device.

Liberty? You don't have the right to have a license, you have the privledge because the state says you can. This is an established principle. While I think this is alittle over the top, its well within the rights of the government to do so.

I created a memoriam thread, so we can use this thread to discuss the incident. Accident happened at Chapel and East Streets at approximately 2330 Tuesday night. NHFD worked for a half hour to extricate P.O. Gonzalez, who is still in extremely serious condition. Please post your condolences in the thread below: http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=27486

Congrats and good luck.

Here we go again...

Wait, are you positing the notion that the FDNY has a monopoly on lettered turnout gear and rig murals, and that nobody has the right to customize their stuff? Or are you saying people shouldnt rip off their murals and put FDXX on the back of their gear?

Wait, I don't quite understand what makes a college student that lives at a firehouse a "bad buff." The firehouse gets manpower, the students get free housing and firefighting experience... who loses here? I'm not understanding why people have to bash, or why the moderators haven't locked this thread or deleted the inappropriate/accusatory comments.
-
I don't like statistics, because they are manipulated by people with bad attitudes trying to make a point. Where is the percentage of how many working fires they had that year vs. the number of alarms? Correct me if I'm wrong, but 74% EMS seems on point with any other fire department, FDNY included. Nobody is saying they don't do the regular calls like the rest of them, but they manage to advertise fairly well. Look how much people talk about them?

Other than the few isolated incidents I've heard of where their behavior has gotten alittle inappropriate, these guys seem like a bunch of really dedicated volunteers. Everyone complains about the "death of volunteerism" in our country, but when you find a group of hardcore guys like this, you redicule them. I don't think thats fair. People are so assume the worst of people's motives. So what if they are buffs? So what if they live in the firehouse? They get out the door, everytime. They get the fire out, everytime. As long as they are doing their jobs and they do it with an acceptable level of professionalism when it comes time to put in work, who cares?

The idea is to get most, if not all of the events done during the 7 hour window between the morning rain and the late afternoon/evening storm. Maybe it will work, maybe not. Guess we'll find out.

One more reason for me to vote against Obama. "Something something change, something something new ideas, something something, yes we can." No Barrack, no we can't...
-
The idea of not voting as some sort of protest is, excuse me for my candid thoughts, stupid. If you don't vote, you should have no right to complain. You had a voice on election day and you chose not to speak.
