FBI, Bridgeport PD (Including their SWAT team) and possibly CSP executing multiple search/arrest warrants in Bridgeport at multiple locations. In one raid, on McKinley Avenue, a FBI Special Agent accidentially discharged his weapon, injuring a suspect. Several suspects have been arrested, CT State Police Major Crimes and Internal Affairs are handling the investigation of the shooting (apparently it is FBI policy to have an outside agency investigate an Agent-Involved Shooting.)

Amtrak actually has one of the best PDs in the country, and they are technically a federal agency (Amtrak is a government-subsidized program, though that never helps me understand why its so damned expensive.) Their K9 units have access to training that most PDs don't, they can train on extremely large drug samples, which would normally overload a K9's senses. MTA and Amtrak PD are DEFINITELY Police Officers.

Didn't he have a ticket? Doesn't that infer he is invited on the property? The only way that could really be trespass then is if APD told him to leave and he refused. Sounds fishy. Amtrak PD Arrests Photographer... COUNTERTERRORISTS WIN! (Any video game junkies out there will get the humor in that)

I'd imagine that they name the person a "suspect" because he or she was named in the warrant. Other than that, almost anyone is considered to be a suspect in a tactical entry (more or less, as you never know who is good and bad, I'm not saying you arrest everyone necessarily, but you treat everyone as if they could be hostile.)

Wow, this is a shame.

Some of the guys from Company A are out in Appleton, WI at Pierce doing the inspection of the 2 new Company A Rigs and the pictures have been posted on the NFVFD website. Tanker 5 is a 3000 gallon tanker replacing a 30 year old unit, Engine 6 is 1000? gallon engine replacing a 20 year old one. New Tanker 5 New Engine 6

I'd imagine some 20+ year guys are reading the writing on the wall and got out of there before things got real bad. Good start, hopefully the rest of the guys that got laid off/demoted in both FD and PD will get their jobs back.

The answer I got regarding Chevrons on the engine is that A. its was purchased in 2008, so it doesn't need to meet the 2009 standard. and B. they didn't have the money to add the option on E6. Whether or not either of those are true is for someone else to determine. Thats just the answers I got.

The Lakeland unit is most likely a Firematic job, but I'm not sure. Looks like their work.

Izzy, Danbury has a pretty active Ham Operator group. Look them up, they do alot of work with the city's emergency management too.

So I have come to a realization. I may completely detest Obama both personally and professionally, but I am going to be the bigger person. I am not going to be like all the liberal jerks who did nothing but complain about President Bush and refused to admit that he did anything right. I am going to give Obama a fair chance, and if he does actually succeed in doing anything positive, I will give him credit. Otherwise I'm no better than the anti-Bushers I hate so intensely

I do, however, believe that Police Officers should be required to get HAZMAT Operational training if they are going to be issued level C suits as they are in CT.

Pictures on the NFVFD website of the new Squantz Engine Company Engine 13. Being built by Gowains and Knight in Connecticut. This will be replacing a 20 year old pumper, hopefully will be in by the end of the year. Company A's Engine 6 and Tanker 5 should be in soon as well, I'll have the pics of those up when I can. New: http://www.nfvfd.org/6160/ Old: http://www.nfvfd.org/8249/

Company A is getting an Pierce Velocity pumper (Engine 6) and a Pierce/International Elliptical Tanker (Tanker 5.) Squantz is getting their new pumper from Gowains (the only company that put in a bid for something that would fit their ridiculously small firehouse) which is Engine 13. 3 Trucks are being replaced at about the same time departmentwide. We went to the town for a bond to replace all three (the engines are 20 years old, the tanker is 30) and used funds from our apparatus replacement fund as well.

Interesting idea, have all the bugs been worked out yet?

I'm sorry, that is just hilarious. I love the dispatcher cracking up in the background. Great find Izzy.

WHO THE HELL gave this guy a building/occupancy permit?!?!?!? I may not be an expert on Illinois building/fire codes, but that CANNOT be an approved building material. Where was the Fire Marshal? Where was the Building Inspector? Sure, a house made of recycled materials is "green," up until the point it burns and releases toxic smoke from the burning rubber. Great idea, you've probably now introduced more toxic chemicals than you would have building a regular house, you idiot. Sorry for the rant, stupidity of this magnititude angers me.

The Secret Service does run ambulances, they are usually black and unmarked. At least one vehicle in the POTUS' convoy is an ambulance or medic truck. The ambulance that took Senator Kennedy away had Federal license plates, so it could be any number of various federal agencies. Probably Secret Service or Capitol PD, definitely not DCFD.

I tried posting some of my photos as attachments this morning, and the site wouldn't allow it. Said something about "Attachment failed, contact administrator for settings and permissions." Pictures were 800x600 and less than the 650KB filesize limit. Any suggestions?

Not all C-MED regions in CT work that way though. Calls can be received and dispatched via C-MED in New Haven's Region, but up here in Region 5, its up to your individual municipality. However, Litchfield County DOES do countywide dispatch, so that covers it, and here in NF we just call Danbury Hospital for our mutual aid, since they have to cover us according to our contract for paid services. Putnam Lake or Sherman might get called if we're in a pinch, but thats a rarity. Pasobuff, I do agree with something you said. Chief's need to stop dispatching from fire scenes, let the dispatchers call the help. Let your ego go and let the dispatchers do their jobs, you concentrating on getting the fire under control.
