  1. Get Allstate and be better protected from Mayhem like this...
  2. "Hunter's" Ambulance in Meriden maybe? What was the color scheme?
  3. You know, I thought that sounded weird as I typed it. Where I read about it it was written IMAC but I think they did mean EMAC...
  4. Pete, I said something to this effect on the CT forum but I'll do the same here. You've made a lot of arguments for not consolidating over the years, I can't say that I agree with most of them, but I respect your ability to make those arguments. That being said, I respect even more your willingness to bury the hatchet and move forward with the decision made by the people you serve. We've all seen guys who toss in their stuff after a firehouse decision goes the way they don't like it, but so far it seems like you're handling this as a true professional. Tip of the helmet for that. I wish ALL of Stamford's Firefighters the best of luck, and I hope that they become a model of combination fire service for the rest of the nation. You have the opportunity to create something new and exciting here.
  5. Connecticut Office of Emergency Medical Services put out a notice to all EMS Chiefs of Service requesting ambulances through an IMAC (Interstate Mutual Aid Compact) agreement to send ambulances to New Jersey.
  6. Please no more, if I stay one more night in this EOC I might lose my mind.
  7. So dogs can't see them... Honestly I have no idea.
  8. Great photos, but next time you're in Milford let me know!
  9. CT State EOC has a Fuel Task Force set up to address issues with fuel supply. If you're having issues contact your Regional Coordinator.
  10. I'm mixed. On one hand its obviously going to be a draw on the city's resources. On the other, you can't overlook the economic bounceback as well as the "we're still here" factor. Either way, it should be up to New Yorkers to decide.
  11. I'm hearing some preliminary discussions of some assets from CT going to NJ, beyond the Blackhawk and flight crew that was sent from CT National Guard the other day. Though I think that's going to be dependent upon the status of the Nor'easter next week, but I'm not sure.
  12. LA-LA-LA-LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!!!! (Plugging my ears)
  13. Broad Channel VFD in Queens has apparently lost both their engines and both ambulances.
  14. The following Federal USAR Task Forces are on deployment: IN TF-1 MO TF-1 TN TF-1 MA TF-1 MF TF-1 PA TF-1 VA TF-1 VA TF-2 OH TF-1 National Incident Management Assistance Teams: Blue (East) - Deployed to NYC White (Central) - Deployed to MA Red (West) - Deployed to NJ
  15. Very similar to how it runs in CT. Request from local EOC or Incident Commander to the Regional DEMHS Coordinator to the State EOC, and the State Fire Commission organizes task forces that will come in to assist.
  16. RI DMAT-1 en route to NY/NJ
  17. May the Fallen Brother Rest in Peace.
  18. Maps showing an estimated storm surge of at least 7 feet on Long Island Sound from East Haven to Bridgeport or so, then it starts to get into the 11-13 foot range.
  19. You forgot the lunar cycle pulling tides up, normally not a huge deal but when added in... All three FEMA National Incident Management Assistance Teams will be deployed for this storm to NJ, CT and MA. Its going to be a LONG week my friends...
  20. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at3+shtml/031908.shtml?5-daynl#contents The latest from NHC as of 11:00PM tonight. Looks like no bueno.
  21. Per an update from CT Dept of Emergency Services and Public Protection, the storm hitting Delaware/Jersey puts CT in the path of some VERY strong winds and rain. My sister goes to Culinary in Hyde Park, anyone know what's expected for that part of Dutchess?
  22. I know the CSP loves their Sigs, I wasn't surprised that they went with them again. I hope they serve them well. The only unit that doesn't carry the Sig is the State Police Tactical Unit, which carries a modified version of Cerberus Tactical's "Directed Operations Group," or DOG 1911, known as the Big DOG. If you're a 1911 fan, this weapon is the mother of all tactical 1911s. But to be fair almost everything SPTU owns is custom, so its not surprising they carry a different weapon.
  23. Well latest models put landfall of a direct hit into Jersey somewhere, though that's obviously subject to change between now and the next few days. Plus, as someone mentioned, this is a geographically BIG storm, so to say we're not going to get hit in Westchester/CT might be premature. I'm not a run out, stock up type of person but this is a good time to talk with your family and go over your personal emergency plans. You'll be a much more effective responder if your mind is at ease about your family situation.
