Is it just me or does anybody else realize that as of 0:01 on 12/26, the playing of Christmas/seasonal music just about stops? The season actually runs thru 01/06, doesn't it?

Guess you haven't been to too many real food service establishments, or are you kidding? For fast food, I think Wendys is better than either of those

Very well done, CFD320! I agree the season does drag on but I think that's because it starts MUCH too early! I think that the whole Christmas thing is getting way too commercialized, and that's why it starts so damn early! Early December is PLENTY early, don't ya think?????

Most of the guys who would take it on calls spent several hours with Craig and went over it extensively, so I don't forsee any problems there. As far as pix, I sent some in but I'm not sure how well they will come out I'll get more in the next few days. Gowans Knight does take a lot of pride in what they build, for sure. This vehicle has a 20 and separate 40 gallon foam tanks with an electric pump to feed directly from either tank. (it'll deliver 2 different kinds of foam depending on fire type). I must say this stuff has come one hell of a long way compared to what we had when I joined 4 decades+ ago!

Dammit Jeff, you're built like I am. If either of us go down it'll take a lot more than that to carry us!LOL

Well The new Engine 148 arrived this morning (Wednesday 12/22) right on time. Damn, GK does good work. The unit was placed in service this evening. Hopefully pix will be up soon!~

Unfortunately I wouldn't. Not in the least. But placing one flare on each side of the driveway. Then finding it won't be a problem.

Here's another item for the list. Just because a guy meets all of the other qualifications previously discussed, he/she needs to have the people and communication skills to properly deal with ALL members, whether in training or incidents.

I agree, in my department we have a second LT. who has only been in the department for 3 years, but what he lacks in time he gained in experience and commitment from coming to almost every single call and every single drill and meeting. In my view, if the person puts the time in and knows his stuff, why cant he/she be chief. Elections should not be based on popularity; it needs to be based on leadership and knowledge. You have a point BUT I believe that a Lieutenant should have a minimum of fiveyears service and work his/her way thru the ranks All the way to Chief.

I agree NO lights and sirens while enroute to cover another district. If they get a call prior to arrival then use them. But not just enroute to cover.
