Affton, Missouri Fire Chief Killed In Crash cms.firehouse.com/content/article/article.jsp?sectionId=39&id=40061 Jerry Buehne, the chief of the Affton Fire Protection district, was killed shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday when his car was struck by another car driven at a high rate of speed by a shoplifting suspect who had crossed the center line on Gravois Road in Affton, authorities said. The other motorist, a 44-year-old man, was seriously injured. St. Louis County Police Officer Rick Eckhard said police were not chasing the suspect at the time of the crash. He gave this account: County police were notified by a Walgreen's drug store in the 11000 block of Gravois that a man had just stolen something and was leaving the store. I agree 100% with you JBE!!! Public image and perception is a major factor. In the firehouse or on a FD vehicle is DEFINITELY NOT the place!!!! It makes NO difference how they (the public) finds out, but they most generally do so there is NO excuse!

Funny thing here is the fact that I put my leave request for Teusday and Wednesday. So another few inches overnight won't really bother me. But DFFD227, looks like you only got a 2 hour delay when everybody got the whole day.LOL

I haven't bashed any agency or Department on this forum, I've stated my opinion on a few different issue's that's all. Some of you don't like what I've said- but with all of my years and experience's that is just my opinion. [-( BUT pbvpm, when stating your opinion on numerous occaisions you come across as bashing people and/or agencies whether you intend for it to be that way--- IT IS, so as you post your opinion you need to gain the ability to do it more tactfully!
