  1. All of Chris' and als' plus: The jerk behind you is so far up your butt that you don't even notice the high beams he's using like a laser cutter to cut you and your car up to get them out of his way, not considering the fact that you are already doing 65 on a highway or 45 to 50 on the other roads.
  2. Congrats to the new officers and members of the board of directors!
  3. I've had my pulse taken at a few different Doctors' offices and they all cout the beats watching the second hand on the wall clock for fifteen seconds and multiply by four. That seems to be the most popular (beast in 15 secs times 4) Hope this helps.
  4. From the Weather Channel. NORTHERN FAIRFIELD-NORTHERN NEW HAVEN- NORTHERN MIDDLESEX- NORTHERN NEW LONDON-SOUTHERN FAIRFIELD-SOUTHERN NEW HAVEN- SOUTHERN MIDDLESEX-SOUTHERN NEW LONDON-WESTERN PASSAIC-BERGEN- EASTERN PASSAIC-ESSEX-HUDSON-UNION-ORANGE- PUTNAM-ROCKLAND- NORTHERN WESTCHESTER- SOUTHERN WESTCHESTER-NEW YORK (MANHATTAN)- BRONX-RICHMOND (STATEN ISLAND)-KINGS (BROOKLYN)-QUEENS- NASSAU- NORTHWESTERN SUFFOLK- NORTHEASTERN SUFFOLK-SOUTHWESTERN SUFFOLK- SOUTHEASTERN SUFFOLK- 409 PM EST SUN FEB 11 2007 ...POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM COULD AFFECT THE TRI-STATE AREA TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY... AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER THE SOUTHERN PLAINS MONDAY...THEN TRACK EAST TO THE TENNESSEE RIVER VALLEY BY TUESDAY... WHEN A SECONDARY AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WILL FORM OFF THE SOUTHEAST COAST. THE COASTAL LOW BECOMES THE PRIMARY LOW BY WEDNESDAY MORNING OFF THE VIRGINIA OR NORTH CAROLINA COAST. THIS LOW WILL INTENSIFY AS IT SLOWLY LIFTS NORTHEAST TOWARD EASTERN LONG ISLAND BY WEDNESDAY EVENING...THEN TOWARD THE GULF OF MAINE BY THURSDAY MORNING... AND TO NOVA SCOTIA BY THURSDAY EVENING. COLD AIR WILL INITIALLY BE IN PLACE ACROSS THE REGION AHEAD OF THE STORM AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS EAST FROM SOUTH CENTRAL CANADA MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT...BUT MILDER AIR FROM THE ATLANTIC MAY SPREAD INTO COASTAL LOCATIONS ON WEDNESDAY. IT REMAINS UNCERTAIN AS TO HOW MUCH MILDER AIR WILL MOVE INTO THE AREA ON WEDNESDAY...WHICH WILL HAVE A MAJOR IMPACT ON SNOWFALL TOTALS. THERE REMAINS THE POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL FROM TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY. BEST INDICATIONS ARE THAT SNOW SHOULD DEVELOP BY MIDNIGHT TUESDAY NIGHT ACROSS NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY...THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY...AND METRO NEW YORK CITY...THEN CONTINUE TO OVERSPREAD THE ENTIRE TRI- STATE DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. CURRENT EXPECTATIONS ARE FOR THE HEAVIEST AND STEADIEST SNOW FALL TO OCCUR FROM ABOUT MIDNIGHT THROUGH DAYBREAK WEDNESDAY MORNING. SNOW MAY THEN MIX WITH RAIN WEDNESDAY MORNING...BEFORE POSSIBLY CHANGING OVER TO ALL RAIN WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON FOR NEW YORK CITY...LONG ISLAND AND COASTAL CONNECTICUT. INTERIOR PORTIONS OF THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY CAN EXPECT ALL SNOW...WHILE THE REST OF THE TRI-STATE AREA MAY SEE A MIX OF RAIN AND SNOW. THERE IS STILL QUITE A BIT OF UNCERTAINTY ON THE EXACT TRACK AND STRENGTH OF THIS STORM...AND ON HOW FAST IT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA. CURRENT TRENDS ARE FOR A TRACK FURTHER WEST THAN PREVIOUSLY FORECASTED... ALLOWING PRECIPITATION TO MIX WITH OR CHANGEOVER TO RAIN. IF THE STORM REMAINS ON AN OFFSHORE TRACK...THAT WOULD BRING ABOUT WIDESPREAD SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL TOTALS TO MUCH OF THE REGION. HOWEVER...IT IS TOO EARLY TO DETERMINE MORE EXACT SNOWFALL AMOUNTS AT THIS TIME. IN ADDITION TO THE POTENTIAL FOR A SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL... PROLONGED STRONG NORTHEAST WINDS AHEAD OF THE SYSTEM TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR PRODUCING MINOR TO POSSIBLY MODERATE COASTAL FLOODING AS WELL.
  5. My sentiments, EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I agree 100%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This guy may stop just short of being a damn traitor, and should be treated accordingly! I believe in his right to disagree with the war, but if that's how he feels, he shouldn't have enlisted and made a career of it! Just my $.02
  7. And an FCC Call Sign which is getting harder and harder to get.
  8. uh-hu, so was I
  9. Yup I feel the same!
  10. Nah, even an inch is an inch too much!!!!!!! LOL
  11. 0-24????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  12. Here's a question. How many Volunteer Departments rquire additional training for Officers? More Requirements the higher rank attained?
  13. Yet another tragedy hits the Emergency Services. Very sad, indeed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Trooper Rosado's family, friends and the NYSP.

  19. As a 28 plus year NYC employee, I've noticed a trend in the way they do certain things. As you said, some guys may have put items on the outside of their lockers which may be of a bit of a questionable nature. Unfortunately, the City's way of handling this is to go after EVERYBODY, insted of handling it with the individual(s) involved, the way they should and could.
  20. Very sad indeed. Thoughts and prayers To Firefighter Halls Family, Friends, and to the Upland Community. Rest in Peace, Brother.
  21. I hope for a real quick obselessence! All new buildings are or certainly equipped with sprinkler systems, and the older ones as you said should be set up with alarms and fire extinguishers. You're right we should encourage occupants to get out and call the FD.
  22. I believe it's a visibility thing. The strobe will be much more noticable in times of poor visibility, in heavy fog and even at night. When youi see that strobe, you know the light is red. You will only see that white flashing strobe in the red---no other color.
  23. Amen to that!!!!!!! You'd be doing yourself a BIG favor to dump AOhelL and go with a good ISP!!!!!!
