The neighbor bought it to demolish to build a Horse Paddock. Must be nice to have money to do that. There is a pool, pool house and cabana behind it that he was keeping, so they were "off limits". There were some excellent evolutions, the rope escape from the second floor window and the rescue of a FF through the hole in the floor. All in all, it was an excellent drill. Speaking with one of the brothers, when I asked him if he got to work with the rope, he said that it was a real confidence Builder for him. hearing that proves the value in these drills. I sent some pics to Seth, Hopefully he can post some of them. Here's a link to Photobucket with a few of the pictures I took: http://s151.photobucket.com/albums/s149/CF...L%2005_12_2007/

QUOTE KS. FF Killed While Responding (The Secret List) May 13, 2007 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A volunteer firefighter with the Rose Hill (Kansas) FD was killed late Friday night when he lost control of his pickup truck while responding to the scene of a house fire. The Kansas Highway Patrol said the pickup driven by FF Brandon Daley, 19, rolled several times and he was thrown from it after he lost control of the vehicle north of Rose Hill. The alarm for the working fire came in shortly after 2300, the first apparatus left the firehouse carrying five firefighters. Daley missed the rig when it left the firehouse and decided to drive himself to the scene instead of waiting for additional apparatus to respond. Details to follow. Our deepest sympathy go out to all effected, the RHFD members and especially the family of FF Daley. Take Care-BE CAREFUL. BillyG Thoughts and prayers to Firefighter Daley's family, friends, and to the Rose Hill Fire Department

Looking at the way the fire is working in the attic, as has already been said, definitely worth lives for that. Watch that power line as well, it looks like it burned away from the house, so it may well still be live. It looks like it's still connected at the pole. Just another potential safety issue.

I worked in a gas station over 25 years ago, and even then I learned one thing real fast: The American motoring public, is about the dumbest part of our population, and that is backed up by 44 years in the Fire Service,

I guess in Croton Falls we're just very fortunate. While we do not run the ambulance (North Salem VAC does that) But we have at last count 28 or 30 EMTS. We back up the Corps on most calls. I'm proud to say CFFD and NSVAC work extremely well together. If they need a firefighter to ride as EMT it's done no problem, a number of our EMTs are also members of NSVAC. we have an EXCELLENT working relationship.

als, I hear ya on the cable price tag. I USED to have the big 3 Phone,Internet and TV through Comcast, When it got to over $160/month, I went to Verizon Fiber Optic for phone and internet, snd I'm patiently awaiting thw arrival of FiOS TV and then Bye-Bye Comcast. I love that FiOS internet access---MUCH faster than cable!
