  1. EXCELLENT JOB!!!!!!!!
  2. Partial quote from Associated Press and MSNBC ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - A police officer died Monday after crashing his motorcycle while riding in a motorcade as President Bush prepared to leave the city following a fundraiser for Sen. Pete Domenici. Rio Rancho Officer Germaine Casey, 40, was rushed to an Albuquerque hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The motorcycle was near the front of the motorcade, and the president saw the wreck as he drove past on the way to the airport, said Rio Rancho Police Department spokesman Officer John Francis. Thoughts, prayers, and condolences to Officer Casey's Family, Friends, and Brothers and Sisters in the Albuquerque PD.
  3. Yes it should.

  6. Not a bad looking vehicle!
  7. Well Put!!!!!! Excellent Post, ckroll!!!!!!
  8. Just thought I'd throw my $0.02. The initial thread started with "I hate Hatzolla!" If that's not a bash I don't know what is. Seth is absolutely right on this. So if you feel like a persecuted soul, then go sit in the corner and stay there.
  9. Ok, PJreilly, you would have a point, except for one technicality. This as public as it is, is still privately owned. When you register, you are agreeint to ALL rules, regulations, terms and conditions as may be promulgated by the owner. Nobody is forcing you to be a member here, so if you don't like the rules set by the Administrator, you don't have to remain a member.
  10. Tanks for the honor, Seth. I agree, if we put our minds to it we really CAN work together. And That's exactly what this site is all about!
  11. What??????? Try to keep this one where??? Above Water??? uhoh, Tom! What did you do??????????
  12. ]Congrats, Good Luck. msy she give you many years of good service!
  13. Ok, I can see that. Now we need to have enough Police Officers to enforce this. Oh, I have another I684 story for ya about enough Troopers and lane closures. It'd be a long post but if you want I'll post it or PM ya
  14. Yes, that's great. but as you said, it's open to the Officer's discretion If I were in LE, anything over 10 MPH going thru an emergency scene. I remember years back when I worked for a tow outfit, we were woeking a minor PDAA on 684, on a snowey Saturday afternoon. The Trooper wrote the guy for that imprudent speed, the guy was not a happy camper. He said "But I was only going 10 MPH! Trooper said, well you were doing 10 MPH, and had an accident, you should have been going slower. I just laughed at him.
  15. Ok, there is a new law doubling fines for speeding in work zones. Well when we are out there there's no such law. Why don't we try to have something enacted reducing the speed limit to, say, 10 MPH, with the same or similar fines levied.
  16. That's a nice looking vehicle! Good luck with it! The rear dump shute looks like what we just had installed on our tanker. Seems to work well.
  17. Can you provide additional info, Date, Time? I imaging it will be held at LCFD HQ?
  18. As I posted previously, This is basically a public forum. Those of you who feel so strongly about being allowed to use "minor curse words, would you talk the same way while out in any public facilities? I think (for the most part) NOT!!!! With that said post on this forum as you would when you are in a verbal conversation. Nuff said.
  19. I don't know too much on this one. I can tell you that when I joined CFFD in 1963 (yeah, I know I'm aging myself). Our pumpers were E 136, E 150, and E 168. I don't know how it was originally set up, perhaps in the numeric order in which they were first registered with the County. When they assin=gned the new numbers E 147, E 148, E 149, Alphabetically, by Battalion?
  20. In person in the firehouse? Maybe. But would you go to a restaeaunt or a store and throw that around? I don't think so, no, not out in the public. Well, when you spewthat on here, this board is just about as public as the store or restaraunt. So at this point I tend to agree with Seth. Just My Hunble Opinion
  21. You may be right, but I have to wonder about a split system, rather than a County run, coutny wide system. And are the Cortlandt Medics going to hire the personnel to cover the West half of Putnam at Putnam's expence? Is the County going to pay a managrie of outfits to accomplish this?
  22. So far I have sent two emails to the Putnam County Board of Legislators. The first when the news first came out and the second a few minutes ago. August 9th: RE: Your recent decision to terminate funding for Advanced Life Support To the Board of Legislators of the County of Putnam: Your decision to terminate funding of Advanced Life Support Services as of 1 October 2007 is a gross injustice, not only the dedicated providers of Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services, but to *ALL* residents of Putnam County!!!! What are you thinking?????? Now a precedent has been set, a step forward, and now you want to take an even bigger step backwards??? God forbid one of you or one of your loved ones suffer a life threatening illness or injury where the intervention of an Advanced Life Support/ Paramedic Unit would have made the difference between life and death!!!!!! This is a travesty of utmost proportions!!!! It is high time to take the football out of politics and put it back of the football playing field! This can NOT be a part of some political game between the Board and County Executive or anybody else! You MUST reconsider this reckless decision post haste, before it results, as it will, in an unnecessary loss of life! Thank you for your attention in this urgent matter. Sincerely, Christopher D Richie Putnam Resident and Past Chief, Croton Falls Fire Department The second today: RE: Your Reckless Decision to cut Advanced Life Services When I first heard about this DANGEROUS decision, I sent an email. As of today, I am yet to receive the courtesy of a response. Once again, I feel, both as a firefighter whose Department covers albeit a small part of Putnam County, but also as a resident. This is an extremely irresponsible and dangerous move. If it was, as I have heard, due to some foolish Hatfield/McCoy feud, well that sounds like a silly game of Political Football! As I stated in my previous email, it's high time to take the proverbial football out of Politics and leave it on the football field! God forbid you or any of your loved ones suffer some life threatening illness or injury, and die because the Advanced Life Support (Paramedic) is no longer available in Putnam County. But I'm afraid that one or more lives will be lost before you people come to your senses and reinstate this vital service. I would appreciate the courtesy of a response. Sincerely, Chris Richie, Past Chief Croton Falls Volunteer Fire Department
  23. Quite frankly, I think it's about time this was done. A while back, there was a thread on here that basically said to write your posts as if you were talking to a bunch of people in person. I don't think that everybody, while I'm well aware that there are some who do, talk in normal conversation using profanity as every other word in a sentence. Remember, this forum is basically open to the public. How many of you will get in a loud conversation at Inspection dinners and other functions where politicians, both male and female, Clergy, perhaps family members of a Chief or commissioner and every other word is vulgar? The language I believe Seth refers to for the most part looks highly unprofessional. Ok, I admit I've used a few of the "lesser" curse words (hell and damn come to mind, but I know I really don't need that to get a point across. With that said, Seth, I think you made a good decision here. JMHO
  24. Good Luck to the new Administrator!
