What would get you to visit EMTBravo.com more often? Wasn't there a link to it from this one at one time? If there were a direct link, I know I would be back and forth quite a bit.

Actually these two places are located in the Town of Yorktown. The two areas together may be a hamlet. Not sure of that, though.

Any word on a September Points Giving Back Donation Program yet? Just wondering, cause we're almost half way through the month.

JBE, I don't think any of us expect the world to come to a standstill, but to have a national moment of silence at some point on the eleventh, I feel is something that should be done. I also think that those who were lost Civilians and MOS alike would not want the Country to come to a standstill. But a few moments to reflect and say a silent Prayer is just the right thing to do.

You're right, Mike. Let me rephrase that we have become a nation of self centered people who take too much for granted. All a lot of them care about is that when they dial 911 help is coming they have NO concept of what is involved.

We are bocoming a country of self centered people who take Freedom for granted, and put this out of mind and just plain forget about it, and I think it's a damn shame.

Much of the general public, being narrow minded as they can get at times has no clue and no interest in the Emergency Services, They tend to take Police, Fire and EMS protection for granted. Unless you are a part of ES, you do become as was mentioned in a previous post, complacent. I know I will never forget.

Congrats to the new Firefighters! Good luck in the Academy! Stay safe Brothers!

Yup, same thing in my job and it's not even in Law Enforcement. Just how it is in the real world.

I was a Watershed Inspector for NYC DEP in Northers Westchester/Putnam area. I was out of the truck opening the gate to get the Reservoir elevation At Boyds Corner Reservoir in Kent. I had WHUD on the truck radio, as I got back in, I heard them talking about a plane having hit the first tower. The DJ said "It only gets worse. Now we're getting reports that a second plane hit the other tower". Then he said he didn't think it could be an accident. This is a terrorist act. I wonder if he really had an idea how true his words would really be. I spent the rest of the day in the office with the radio on, making temporary signs closing all Reservoirs to public access. They remained closed for quite a while after. That day will stay with me forever. On a side note it was my anniversary with DEP. I started 09/11/1978.

Theme was : What is a Volunteer Firefighter? An ordinare person thrust inyo extraordinary circumstances. And ho built on that, EXCELLENT speech VERY elleuqent! He's definitely quite a guy! And I agree with you that those probies will have an education well worth the work.

With the sixth anniversary of that fateful day when Our Great Country was put to the test, may we all take a moment on Tuesday to stop, remember and say a silent Prayer for those lost and their Families on that horrible day. I remember where I was and what I was doing at that time, and it will stay with me forever. Let's proudly display the Flag of Our Great Nation on that day.
