  2. We now have 2 pumpers and a rescue with roll-up doors on compartments. I see a lot of departments with them leave them bare aluminum, and I think they look fine that way. I know some would disagree on that, but as the apparatus ages, and due to continued use, they seem to get dull and lose their shine, not to mention the fact that roll-ups, in general can ce a nightmare to keep clean and ploished. anyone else have any opinion here?
  3. Just want to say GOOD LUCK to all who applied for this exam!

  14. Yeah, A good deal of the time it is very slow to load, sometimes to the point of timing out.
  15. We really don't have any dependable hydrants, so everything we do in by drafting, either directly from a water source or through dry hydrants, with tanker operations. The structure fire we had at 1 wWallace Road 11/27, was a classic example. E 147 set up at a pond and filled Tankers. In addition to our own, we used tankers from Brewster, Goldens Bridge, South Salem, as well as from Ridgefield and Mill Plaion Connecticut. It actually worked out well. While there was considerable damage to the interior of the house, it remains structurally sound. Good interior attack = Good save.
  16. Well, I'm not too sure we can rule that one out quite yet. LOL

  20. The fllowing, is from an email I received this evening: JURY DUTY SCAM > > > This has been verified by the FBI > > Please pass this on to everyone in your email address book. It > is spreading fast so be prepared should you get this call. Most of us > take summons for jury duty seriously, but enough people skip out on > their civic duty, that a new and ominous kind of scam has surfaced. > > The caller claims to be a jury coordinator. If you protest that > you never received a summons for jury duty, the scammer asks you for > your Social Security number and date of birth so he or she can verify > the information and cancel the arrest warrant. Give out any of this > information and bingo; your identity just got stolen. The scam has > been > reported so far in 11 states . This (scam) is particularly insidious > because they use intimidation over the phone to try to bully people > into > giving information by pretending they're with the court system. > The FBI and the federal court system have issued nationwide > alerts on their web sites, warning consumers about the fraud. > As the FBI states: > Protecting yourself is the key: Never give out personal > information when you receive an unsolicited phone call. Below is the link to the FBI Web Site: Official FBI Web Site
  21. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!! To those who will be stuffing ourselves with turkey, WATCH OUT, don't OD on tryptophan! To you who will be working, stay safe. To those in the Armed Forces, who will not be with family, thank you for all you do, stay safe.
  22. Well, once they steal your identity, they can take your money and send it wherever they want.
  23. If you look at the upper right hand corner of a post you should see a button marked "Options" click on it and near the bottom of the box that drops down, you will see display choices. make sure that is set to "STANDARD" view. It seems like you have it set to "OUTLINE".
