Bewster FD's High band Ops channel is 154.37 MHZ which is also FDNY's Brooklyn chanel. I NEVER heard Brooklyn at mt home in Lake Crmel, that is, until I purchased the RH77A.

Steve, ya beat me to it! I was looking for that link. I have that antenna, and for the $27.00, it's WELL worth the money!!!! I'd recommend it to anybody. I's a GREAT antenna

During my first year as Second Assistant Chief of Croton Falls FD, I had left the Chiefs' Convention at the Concord, and went up the back side of the Ashokan Reservoir to Delhi to visit an old friend, I heard Rita Voris do the 8:15 PM test from Lincolndale Firehouse loud and clear as if I was right outside the firehouse. On a side note, God Bless Rita, she was one of the all time BEST dispatchers EVER!

Rob, that's not skip. Skip is what used to happen on Dutches County 46.36, when the Dutchess Dispatchers used to talk to the Dispatchers in Aneheim, Californa. But yeah I've heard that, also hears Greene County on 46.14.

None that I know o. If ya really want to run it off a battery, you might ind up getting a moblie scanner, and one of those ca jumper boxes that has a cigar lighter outlet on it, and puit a plug on the end of thescanner's power cable.

Maybe he ought to get involvd more with Emergency Services and see what it's like to dig a little kid's remais out of the rubble of a structure fire and carry it out. Been there, done that, so I speak from experience.

I like the idea. Like DaRock said, they are an important part of the systm too. And, with the line in the format, I don't think taht the additional time it would take to write an IA would amount to a hill of beans.
