I believe that agencies can implement their own electronic PCRs. I don't know exactly how that works out but Empress does it in Yonkers. I have also seen that Transcare has their own custom paper PRC.

Agreed, not the DOH's policy to enforce. Emergency vehicle lights fall under the vehicle and traffic code, which would be enforced by the police. I can't really see a police officer writing a citation to their local EMS agency.

You can administer albuterol without medical control as long as the patient does not have history of Angina, Myocardial Infarction, Arrhythmia or Congestive Heart Failure. http://www.health.state.ny.us/nysdoh/ems/p...lsprotocols.pdf Page 102. Am I missing something?

There are a lot of complaints on this forum about the scope of practice of NY EMTs, but I am recently discovering that NY is not totally behind. In Delaware they do not carry albuterol, aspirin or epi pens. Working as an EMT in DE has made me appreciate NY's protocols.

EMS involves much more than blood and guts. For just one example, A FF could be called on to help someone with a seizure. Even if the skills never get used, its always good to know.

wow! just wow.

Exactly. No one is going to write you a ticket for not wearing your vest. If wearing the vest will put you in harm's way, take it off. You do not need an exemption to practice common sense.

I agree, that this doesn't seem too secure, but this should only be used on a gate, not the door of your home. Furthermore, I imagine most burglars don't have portable radios sitting around.

I can also vouch for Sunny Side. The owner is a volunteer FF and EMT.

I'm pretty sure if the frame is black or yellow, they are just a recommendation.

We've come a long way.

Was that a transport unit?

The relies to this thread are really disturbing to me. For those in EMS, I hope this is not how EDPs are treated on your ambulance. Lets have some compassion as emergency responders, obviously this guy has some problems, but it doesn't appear that he needs to be locked up.

Are hospitals using the trunked system yet?

Also for textbooks check out bookfinder.com they compare prices from a bunch of online sites. I saved a lot of money through them.

You are correct, he did live in Indonesia for a time and I have deleted my incorrect post. In reguard to your comment that he became a Muslim, he is and always has been a christian. http://my.barackobama.com/page/invite/christian Even if he was a Muslim, I know I would not have a problem with that. A close friend of mine practices Islam and he is one of the nicest guys I know. Muslims does not = terrorist or someone who hates this country.

I'm guessing they don't want people to tailgate because they could make sudden stops, etc.
-
I don't think that is really fair. All members of my VAC (and most VACs) are trained in CPR and First Aid. First aid is basically all an EMT can do before an ambulance arrives with supplies and transportation. Before I became an EMT, I provided first aid to one or two people while waiting for an ambulance to arrive and I would think most would do the same.

He does put his hand over his heart during the national anthem: http://my.barackobama.com/page/invite/patriot The American flag is displayed on Obama's plane in the same manor as McCain's: http://my.barackobama.com/page/invite/plane You have figured it out! Obama is a Muslim terrorist, sent to influtrate the white house and turn over the country to the terrorists! I can respect someone disagreeing with Obama's policies, but its ridiculous to spread these rumors that he isn't patriotic or is some sort of fanatical terrorist.

I understand that the next closest fueling station is in DC.

Interesting that they chose to write Transcare on the front instead of EMS or Paramedic. I realize that EMS means little to the public anyway but I would think it is more recognized than Transcare.

From what I have seen, few other manufactures are offering sliding doors. While it seems like a good idea, I understand there are some problems with the sliding track in the cold weather, as it can get clogged with ice and snow.
-
Yes, the side door does slide. I think that is standard with all of Braun's buses. I had the opportunity to be inside the new 79 the other day. Overall, I thought it was very small. Not a lot of cabinet space or much room in back.

Fire police comes up a lot here. What exactly is that?

My agency currently has high visibility vests, but they look real sloppy and we are looking to replace them. Can anyone recommend a specific brand?
