  7. As the Grandson and cousin of survivors, I thank you for starting this thread. It is my opinion that the 7th of December had fallen by the wayside until 9/11. Then the attack became a part of the story of 9/11, as the only times America had been "attacked" on their own soil. Now, after 7 years, I feel most of America sees 9/11 as just another day. I'm surprised the retail stores haven't found a way to have sales in junction with it. Rememberances seem to becoming fewer and fewer in numbers. As was said, May We Never Forget. Either Attack.... 8. There's some beautiful older rigs you don't see out here on the West Coast. The Maxims and Orem look nice.
  9. Just because we're not on the front lines (at least most of the Air Force) and we wingnnuts make sure we have the comforts of home when we deploy, don't hate us. Remember, that close air support has to come from somewhere....

  11. I thought you guys were in the NYC area, not San Francisco....
  12. I want to echo NWFDMedic's post and state document, document, document. I have been on the witness stand, and even though most of my documentation sucked (my admission, I had been an EMT for 8 months when I ran this response), I documented in 5 seperate places that the pt refused transport. It saved my bacon. As he stated, learn to document and do it well. Take the extra time to do it thoroughly, because you never know what call is going end up with you being deposed or on a witness stand. We have crews here testifying in cases all the time, and their paperwork is used for that purpose. Do you want someone else to read your patient care record and think "Jesus, what a dumba$$"? Write your documentation so that anyone not on scene with you will know exactly what you saw, your findings and your treatment. It should all be spelled out. This should be a lesson that if true proves that it's always easier to transport the patient.
  13. Wish I had the money and time to fly back there and meet you guys. Have a great time!! Duane
  14. Unbelievable, but look where it was...Cook County, Illinois. This is where Chicago is, 2nd only to New Orleans in political corruption....
  15. With the economy as it is, and heating oil back east or electricity/natural gas prices still higher than a kite, more and more people, many poverty stricken or immigrants, will use their barbques for heat in their house, despite the warnings on charcol bags. It's too bad that people must resort to this to survive the cold winter...
  16. Oh Izzy, "Lola" called asking if you're going to be at the party!!
  17. Thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery to him and his family...
  18. Maybe cattle prods instead of PR-24's???
  19. reports stated the crowd broke down the doors.
  20. according to what I saw on the news, "customers" were angry with the police officers as they told them to leave so the officers could close the store for the investigation...
  21. "Black Friday" is getting ridiculous...this and now a shooting in the Palm Springs area of California at a Toys R Us..not much info coming out yet, just 2 DOAs. Regarding the Wal*Mart incident, who else feels the store's business practices are inciting this behavior?? Products at extremely low prices, but only 5-10 of those items at that price. While people need to be civilized, stores should be required to have enough stock if they're going to offer that type of price to not incite riot-like behavior...
  22. Gotta love those yellow rigs...
  23. Happy Thanksgiving from the West Coast Bureau of EMTBravo. May your day be filled with the joy of family. And if you're working like me, may you have enough time to eat tomorrow
  24. Take up, Brother, your job is done. Rest in Peace, and may God watch over your family and friends during this tragic time. Thoughts and prayers go out. Duane F. Kuhlow, Jr. Emergnecy Medical Dispatcher AMR San Diego
