1306 - Danbury police continue to investigate a report of a bomb threat at GE Vendor Financial Services. The building was evacuated this morning, and city police have called state police to help investigate some "suspicious packages," Capt. Robert Myles said.
**UPDATE**
1430 - A telephone bomb threat that forced the evacuation of Riverview Drive business Monday proved to be a hoax, police said.
Employees of GE Vendor Financial Services were evacuated after a caller said there was a bomb in the building and a sweep by the company’s security staff located two suspicious packages, Danbury police spokesman Capt. Robert Myles said.
City firefighters and police were the first on the scene, and called for a state police bomb squad.
An examination of the packages indicated they didn’t contain explosives, and authorities said the building was secured about 2 p.m.
