What's happening to Engine 104? She's a good rig.... Let me see here... Best of luck with the new Engine 104, when will she arrive? -Joe DA BUFF, who's already making a list and checking it twice about the Parade Circuit to play, and this year, he's gonna make Mount Kisco, July 13, right?

Shot her at the Ossining Parade, let me find the photo... Hope this helps! -Joe DA BUFF

THe two HME's are from Rescues 3 and 4. Rescue 4's former had serious mechanical problems and actually had to be towed in October, don't know if she's still around. Spirit of Oklahoma has served as Rescue 4's rig in the past in the long term (March of '03 to March of '04.). I beleive that rig is a full fledged spare, and also not equipped. Love that rig! Hope this helps. -Joe DA BUFF

Hey Seth. Those signs do occassionally display info, usually if trains are late or if there are track changes. I have seen them work at Fordham, New Rochelle, Katonah, and Stamford, among other places. Hope this helps. One of these signs is actually inside New Rochelle Station. -Joe DA BUFF

Since we've seen Kane 169 also, will there be a "Something" 15? I'm just not sure what. -Joe DA BUFF

I concur, it's a nicely done bash, you shouldn't be so hard on yourself! Too bad Hartsdale doesn't actually have one of those. That would be sweet. -Joe DA BUFF
-
Damn! Some vollie Department in Pennsylvania bought that rig, I still have the FAJ with the purchase, just not on me right now! Perhaps someone here will buy it! LOL. -Joe DA BUFF

God Watch out for Seth. I hope his injuries aren't severe and that he recovers soon. -Joe

Didn't Lt. Hollifield publicly criticize the FDNY's Rescue Companies on that show? -Joe DA BUFF

The newly formed Kiryas Joel FD Bought the Former ESU Truck 6 for use as their Heavy Rescue. Mount Vernon runs the former Freightliner Truck 3 if memory serves, New Rochelle also has two in their F.D. Fleet as Utility Vehicles. Don't know much beyond that! -Joe DA BUFF

17-1750 was spied at Ossining this past summer! Merry Christmas to all! -Joe DA BUFF

Man, Code 3 used to be the S%($! The Quarterly Releases used to rock. Now, all it is one rig a month. Ah well. -Joe DA BUFF, who's also too financially strapped to buy Code 3's.

Nickcabral said exactly what I was going to say Seth. Fire Buffing, to me anyway, partially involves the preservation of history. So long as you aren't interfering, or making an a** of yourself, there shouldn't be anything wrong with it. That being said, you should be discreet, at least, I think so. But I believe that us buffs shouldn't be patronized or criminalized for what we do. We are preserving history, and in the words of General Thucydides, "If we don't learn from the mistakes of history, we are bound to repeat them." Seth, you are preserving history. Like Nickcabral said, nobody will remember that fire 30 years from now. But, you have kept the memory of the hard work and sacrifice that the Greenville, Scarsdale, Yonkers, Fairview, and White Plains Fire Departments, Greenburgh PD, Greenburgh EMS, Scarsdale VAC, (did I get every single agency right I hope) and they can be proud of it as their hard work. And you never know, what will us historian-writers turn to when we are writing the histories of these agencies? I don't have very much Fire Ground Photography Experience, so perhaps, I'm not the best authority, but, I am a Fire Buff, writer and historian and I know the pride I feel in seeing photos of the past and that I can learn from these photos. Just my two cents. I hope it's something meaningful, anyway. -Joe DA BUFF

I believe it when I see it, but, I hope this one works out! It would certainly let me see my friends on Long Island very easily (no more switching at Woodside, although, I've never actually done that. Ah well.) Hopefully that'll work out. -Joe DA BUFF

My bad. Sorry about that, I didn't realize how prevalent hydrants were in Mohegan, it kinda reminded me of a local district near me. -Joe DA BUFF

That's a pretty solid and capable looking rig. Is that thing replacing the old Ford Supervac? I would imagine that this new rig is going to be a little like Night and Day for Seattle. -Joe DA BUFF

MMM MMM MMMM! That is a HUGE RIG for HazMat 4! Is RESCUE 4 still in service? Thanks for the photos, Rescue 16 is pretty sweet too, the Walk-In Design reminds me of the old HME's that FDNY ran (I know, reverse logic, but, it does, you have to see those rigs close up, then you'll get it). HazMat 4 looks like one of the FDNY HME's on steroids. LOL. -Joe DA BUFF

NYPD operates 2007 Impalas.... (Scratches head...) I think I saw New Rochelle with one... Hmmmm... Maybe my memory is failing me. Ah Well. -Joe DA BUFF, watching a Holiday Classic, HOME ALONe.

My next favorite International Tanker 5 (Avon, CT is first, but only because of the mural on her.) Glad to see she wasn't left for the scrapper. That Tanker should still have some good years in her, no? Cool. Bedford Hills has/had some Awesome Apparatus. -Joe DA BUFF P.S. Semi-on-topic, how many Districts run two or more tankers? I know Somers does... (Engine 188 and Tanker 16?), Mohegan... who else?

And another one. According to CBS 2 News, her BAC was .27. http://wcbstv.com/topstories/local_story_349114343.html -Joe DA BUFF

I know that in Rockland, there is at least one Fire District that does not share the name with the Fire Company within it. Is this a common occurrence? If so, what are some examples from Westchester? Thanks. -Joe DA BUFF

Hey all. Have a wonderful time up in Elmsford. I'm sorry I can't make it, the last bit of academia for the term is eating my time. Have fun, Chris (Res6cue) and the other people who I've made friends with, perhaps a get together in Rockland is in order or at the Kisco Coach Diner one of these days? With you in Spirit, -Joe DA BUFF

Now I wondered where you found all those rigs. GREAT Photos Seth. Speaking of Sperry Cars, there are Sperry Cars near the Harlem/New Haven and Hudson Line split. Nice train photos at Croton-Harmon, have you shot the old station yet? That yellow Seagrave 70th is from Hadley, MA! I recognize the paint scheme. The Rye Fire Police Patrol Maxim, was that a full pumper? Is that last one a photo of Sing-Sing Prison? I'm glad to see the old 106 Truck. Great photos! When are you coming to CT? -Joe DA BUFF

Glad we have a solid Lefty back, but what we really need is young, fresh, talent! -Joe DA BUFF

Hey Seth, how late is Chipotle open? I may be nearby on Saturday Night and given your endorsement, I think I'll have to stop by. -Joe DA BUFF
