Hey Seth... So far as I know, Wassaic is an all Blue fd (even blue bunkers). However, it was my understanding that their shade of blue was lighter. Nice photo! Hope this helps. -Joe DA BUFF

Well, what's the difference? I've seen the Sheriffs at the Parades, but the cars are the same as the County Police. What's their function, is it only the Civil Processes? I know in Long Island the Sheriffs do that, Courthouse Security, and the Jails. Thanks. -Joe DA BUFF

Hey.... I logged in this afternoon around 1330 and found that the site was closed down. Routine maintenance or none of my business/did other members see the same? Just checking/curious. I forget why I wanted to punch in at 1330... Ah well. Stay Safe out there. -Joe DA BUFF P.S. Seth, are those your photos of the Greenburgh PD Units that just came online? If they are, congratulations on being well enough to take some shots again! YOu haven't lost a step at all!

I spotted Marine 7 underway from Nyack Beach State Park last Memorial Day! Nice to see her up close and personal! Question: Does she go "on patrol" or something or does she only roll for calls? Thanks. Nice to see them boats! -Joe DA BUFF

Thank you kindly Steve and Rich for the info! I figured that tiller training had something to do with it. That would also make sense that you couldn't very well have a "low-profile tiller". Thank you for the clarification about the wheelbase and cornering ability; I know that All-Wheel-Steer has helped some departments (notably Boston) with that issue. I'm glad Seagrave is working out in that realm for you guys. I snapped the Maxim Ladder 26 at the Mamaroneck Parade last summer. Not the best shots, but I got a good one of the banner! Thanks again! -Joe DA BUFF

I'm curious... Why did Rye abandon tillers? Was it staffing or maintenance issues? You mentioned the commercial district... are the street tight? Thanks. -Joe DA BUFF

Beat me to it Seth! I own a replica of that car. -Joe DA BUFF

That is unreal. Tragic too. I guess its something we all have to think about when we approach a toll booth. I wonder if this isn't part of why Connecticut abolished tolls on 95. Ah well. Thanks for sharing. -Joe DA BUFF

Nope. 4-99 is still in service on the front lines. Their parade piece is 4-75, a 1937 vintage Seagrave Tiller. -Joe DA BUFF

This is all part of the Bloomberg's general hostility to the Fire Department. Nuff Said. -Joe DA BUFF

Thanks all! Check out my Brush and Forestry Album when you have a chance! -Joe DA BUFF, who has an odd affinity for the term "Sheriff"

Thanks for all the other rigs! The album has been updated! Let me know your thoughts! -Joe DA BUFF

Engines 26, 54 and 58 also had those same style of pumper. Code 3 did a few replicas too. Hope this helps! -Joe DA BUFF

Thanks all for the info and clarification. If I may, are the Civil Unit actually called "Deputy Sheriffs" or are they regular WCPD? That's the only thing that wasn't clear. But, now I get it! I kinda thought that that was Sheriffs were in Westchester. This leads me to another question.... I saw the WCTLC.... Do they have their own officers or are those also WCPD Officers? Thanks. -Joe DA BUFF

Thanks for all the photos, will the Federal F.F.'s open up to Buffs or do you need to arrange things in advance? -Joe DA BUFF

913 is indeed a Thruway Designation. That rig I believe was technically under Rockland County's system, and was 35-500, if memory serves. Hope this helps. -Joe DA BUFF

I remember it well. It had the run with Paddy Brown doing the over the roof rope rescue. I used to have it on tape (years ago.) It was VERY well done. -Joe DA BUFF

This guy should indeed write a book. 81 YEARS? Hoochie Mama Goochie. I'd be happy to help him write a book, given that published two already. Congratulations Chief Robison and here's to you! -Joe DA BUFF

As always! Outstanding work. -Joe DA BUFF
