  2. Garage already full at the Westchester County Airport; some overflow parking remains By NICOLE NEROULIAS THE JOURNAL NEWS (Original Publication: May 25, 2007) WHITE PLAINS - There's no room at the garage for travelers flying out of Westchester County Airport this weekend. The 1,100-space structure filled up at 10 a.m. yesterday. Travelers who drive themselves must now park in the airport's overflow lot about a half-mile away, then take a shuttle bus to the terminal. "We expect to be into our overflow situation until Tuesday," said Steve Ferguson, assistant airport manager, who strongly recommends travelers find other ways to get to the airport. "The best advice is to have someone drop you off." With new offerings at the airport from JetBlue and Air Tran, this year's Memorial Day weekend is "a little bit more hectic" than last year, Ferguson said. The good news is that sunny skies have ensured flights can arrive and depart on time, he added. The garage has 50 spaces reserved for short-term use - meaning people who are only parking in order to pick up or drop off a passenger. Any overnight stays must use the overflow lot. The parking lot can hold 400 cars, and was half-filled as of 9:30 a.m. today. The closest it ever came to reaching capacity was when about 100 spaces were left during spring break last month, Ferguson said. Outbound flights are fully booked for the next few days, but Ferguson said he expects returning business travelers this evening will free up more garage spaces. "We haven't reached the point where we've had to consider a spot other than the overflow area," he said. "We think it will suffice until Tuesday with the ebb and flow." 3. The guy with the camera was smart enough to back away!!!! Definitely needs to rethink being adventurous and drinking beer together!
  4. What??? Why do you need an open bay to station an ambulance. Leave it outside...it is not going to melt! As for the Flea Market, if anyone sees "hot" pickles let me know...Those are great!
  5. Etomidate has been used at Empress for 4 or 5 years now...Didn't realize it wasn't everywhere! That ish is awesome...knocks em out good!
  6. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Rest in Peace Carmine. And thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Viggiano Family.
  8. New ambulance, old emergency lighting style???? I remember that one of the private co's in Albany has had a chevy van type for a while but can't remember if it was Niagra or Mohawk. I don't mind the new look, Ford had sort of monopolized the van ambulance business...nice to see general competition from someone that does not include those horrible delivery vans aka SPRINTERS. Those are not only ugly, I recall checking out a demo and saying "this ain't gonna work." Glad big Dan Minerva turned em away and kept with the regular vans. Good luck to Alamo with the new rigs! Oh yeah, and pay someone to update your logo...it is about time for a change!
  9. Ah...here you Chris...just for you!
  10. As Chris192 said, the volume in the Hudson Valley region does not warrant an additional Level 1 TC. Albany is also a level 1 and that provides sufficient coverage for the combined areas. In NYC there are many more level 1's, many more trauma's, many more people...With cars being made safer and campaigns by police to ensure safer driving, such as click-it or ticket, there has been a significant reduction in the amount of level 1 trauma jobs over time. For example, I remember the days when Garrison would get at least one major piaa on Rte 9 per week. To this day, "South of the Bird and Bottle" which is a bread and breakfast along route 9, stays with me. Although, I don't listen to a scanner all that much anymore, I haven't seen any new crosses added to the roadside in that area alone.
  11. Suicide Prevention phones...why don't they put one on everyblock like the old fire call boxes. I think just emergency phone would be a better name...like if your car breaks down on the bridge, that could be your "lifeline" to assistance. I have a feeling that if someone intends to JUMP, they will jump, not- that they may pick up the phone and say, "Hey, I am out on the span 'bout a 1/4 mile and I want to jump. Can you convince me not to." Don't you think most people have planned suicide for a while and are ready to jump once they get out there? Just seems like a reactive idea that will not prevent anything...but they can say...the Phones are there for people to use!
  12. Not talking about the bus pictured...just in general...I never saw a bus with MetroCare written upon it!
  13. Other than the commercial services in Westchester is anyone buying anything but PL Custom and Lifeline????? I know we used to see McCoy Miller's and Braun's all over but now it seems that these co's don't get so much Westchester business.
  14. That is a better pic...like the rear compartment doors but don't like that you lose the rear warning lights once you open them! Also like this bus: Chappaqua Ambulance Sharp looking rig and nice color. They should put the shepparding on the rear in those colors...would spice it up and make it safer! Quick link for photo: Dobbs Ferry VAC new Ambulance Delivered And another: Pleasantville VAC new Delivery... Also like this one: Canterbury Fire Ambulance
  15. Just noticed the "M" style grille...guess they are really trying to let you know it is a "M"ack!!! As for the Low Pro? I have only seen it used in NYC...anywhere esle use it? Doesn't LA use automated collection vehicles? When will we catch up in NY???
  16. ahhhhh...I wonder!
  17. Actually before the bus was painted to resemble transcare's logo, I believe it said Abbey Richmond. I don't ever remember any of the buses saying metrocare...although Abbey was purchased at one point by the Metropolitan Ambulance group which merged with transcare (when they were a shade of green) making the conglomerate MetroCare. Although the Abbey bus' paint scheme did resemble MetroCare's and the EMS providers did wear MetroCare shirts and such...that should be the story.
  18. Finally...now you can drink and be driven!!!! They should bring back beer in the bleachers and make them train only!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone is talking about the 1.5 million...what about the 5 million for a walkway above a premise??? They should have donated it to the city...less people parking in their driveway cause they took the train...unless they leased their parking facility to the stadium on game nights and think they will lose money!
  19. Could you imagine dragging all the gear and the tank???? 330 hp...sounds like one of the old Yonkers Maxim's... referring of course to the front wheel drive comment.
  20. audio type = digital modulation = auto attenuator = off
  21. you should be able to enter the frequency with no pl
  22. It is a digital frequency...apco 25 compliant. is the 396t digital compatible>?
  23. don't they have that traffic light system too???? Thought they had it...
  24. Not only that, Harlem Hospital is like a stone's throw from there...What is the closest hospital to GCT? I really don't know but I would think one of the one's on the East Side along the East River Bank...
