  2. yeah, he asked me if he was working...hahahaha
  3. It can happen anywhere at anytime. That is the most important thing to remember. If you see something, say something! None of the Western (Christian) world is immune!
  4. Something similar happened in Yks recently except the idiot asked the cop if it would help if he knew a specific cop...just happened to be the same guy standing in the window. The cop told him to get the cop (himself) on the phone and he would work it out...of course the guy couldn't get him cause he didn't really know him...we had a lot of fun with this on YPD 2...Needless to say he got the ticket and a formal introduction to his so called friend!
  5. Date: 7/4/07 Time: 2056 Location: Ashburton Av x Stewart Pl Frequency: YPD 1 Units: 4pct, ACU, ESU Type: Stabbing Writer: Oswegowind Male stabbed in Abdomen. Units on scene req EMS with rush. Apparent suspect detained at scene. No further.
  6. Not sure what forum this belongs too, but another young volunteer firefighter has been arrested and charged with numerous counts of Arson. Is it time for local FD's to start watching their members a little closer??? How many FD's do background investigations, and how many have to pass psych profile exams? Of course this is not a catch all but maybe something that has to be examined. Story taken from, Straus Newspapers Website: Link: Straus Newspaper Thanks EMTB
  7. The HOME RULE is bull! Too many chiefs not enough indians...each individual hamlet/village/town/city does not need to have 3 chiefs...mergers would save tax payers money...Sorry if I piss you off but I pay taxes and I do have a say! I mean come on let's get real...time for change, it is 2007 ya know! Everywhere I go I see Countywide services that work, like in Orange Cnty Florida, or New Hanover Cnty NC and there are so many more. In each of these areas it is combination of volunteer and career staff that work together and do a great job! Centralizing 911 is also a great idea...it would reduce delays in mutual aid because the persons handling the event would know what they need to know and be able to anticipate the next steps! IMO Westchester County 911 centralized system including a separate PSAP for Yonkers, New Rochelle/Mt. Vernon/The Pelhams, and White Plains...a total of 4 answering/communications points...saving taxpayers millions!
  8. I am technically not in the fire service even though I do dispatch the YFD, but I will answer anyway! I joined the Yonkers Communications after having a whole lot of fun while working on the ambulance in Yonkers. I thought it was just the place I wanted to be, and now I am here. Great job, good pay, always interesting workload! And get to deal with all 3 services just am warm in the winter and cool in the summer...no more humping gear...and no more carrying people up and down stairs!
  9. I got yer back Seth! I love how some people try to take over but don't put in work to do so! This is not a publicly traded site and if a decision is made by administration it is theirs to make. If you want it run a certain way then buy a domain, a server, and take your own time to do your own thing...or just do what is not natural and progress and adapt to new things. Life changes everyday and the changes here may make you think a little harder for 15 minutes but too bad! Again, if you don't care about the points that is fine just ignore them...My 2 cents!

  12. Although a new bridge is milleniums away (LOL) it will be even more needed than when not only cars are crossing the bridge which proposed is going to be larger than the current one and will most likely be more travelled as time passes on. Add to that a rail way system proposal, or even an improved rail link system. It will be even more needed and to get something solid in place now would be a great idea since they ain't gonna tear the current one down while they build the new one so I am sure they will get some work at sometime!

  14. a. Does anyone understand the NYC Taxi Identification system? It is very similar to the NY State Police numbers, always thought that was kind of funny. b. Does the NYPD have a tracking system that can be used in order to locate taxis that may have been involved in crimes, hit and runs, lost property situations, i.e. lost luggage...? c. Other than the traditional 2S65 number on the plate sometimes there is a small letter and it does not appear to be in the same location on each and every taxi license plate, would those possibly be the garage locations? All of this is referring to the NYC Yellow Taxi's seen in and around Manhattan and the major airports. Most other boroughs seem to have more "gypsy" cabs with TLC plates. d. And does NYPD have a hack unit or just a special unit assigned to the Yellow Cabs to track drivers and cars?
  15. That is cool to know about the light... Thanks for the info guys!
  16. How do we change our avatar and signature now...looked and looked but could not find it...?
  17. Oh, I always got it on the bottom of my profile page...thanks!
  18. Whew, thanks for pointing that out!!! That would be something...lets just hope NY don't get no ideas!!!! On a side note, don't have your sirius/xm receiver on the dash when travelling through VA, they automatically assume it is a radar detector! How is that not profiling??????? "Sorry for the inconvenience, but I'm trying to get my radar detector ticket for the day."
  19. You are correct. Only one was not registered, the PA one actually...but it hasn't been the norm lately, unless our guys are just not catching them as often...which could be the reason.
  20. Pretty cool idea...especially if we can get free stuff by posting!
  21. Looks cool, guess I will have to explore it for the next 8 hours or so...MFY Now give me my points!

  23. I just meant that they looked like the state police numbers...not that the system is the same. I did know they issued medallions (expensive right?), did not know these numbers corresponded to the medallions...once again Chris192 has the answers...didn't know that he used to drive a cab too...lol
  24. Once again, you are entitled to your opinion, and so is everyone else, but this is not a publicly owned website, and the proprietor is also entitled to his own opinion. If he wishes to post the Sicko banner than so be it, this is HIS website! And there are just as many right wing nut jobs out there that keep our country from moving forward and developing better ideas. We are a capitalist society that helps the weak and poor tag along...that makes a whole lot of sense. Let's really move this discussion forward, leave the politics and parties home and discuss this issue like adults with factual information provided and sources sighted and let your opinion carry weight! Medibart makes a great point about how our systems resemble socialism, cause if it were true capitalism, if you couldn't afford the ambulance you would just lay there and die! Please explore the following ideas and present your opinions on these as well as the health care industry being discussed already: 1. Privatization of Social Security. Do you agree or disagree? Do you need to know more? This would allow you and I to choose how our social security tax is invested for ourselves, the individual! The government already makes money off of our money, this would allow you and I to invest our money specifically to try and make more, just like the 401k's but we can't touch it til we are what 62 or 65 so it will still be there. 2. Fair Tax Law. Do you agree or disagree? Under fair tax we would pay minimal if no income taxes. We would be taxed at a somewhat higher sales tax. So if you bought nothing you pay nothing, but if you buy a jet plane you would pay for it. Similar to a luxury tax.
  25. News sources are reporting a bombing of the terminal at Glasgow International Airport in Scotland. 1 suspect in critical condition with severe burns secondary to incendiary device exploding. 2nd suspect in custody with apparent suspicious device recovered. Chief Constable of Scotland PD reports that bomb was consistent with those recovered in London's Piccadilly Circus Area 2 days ago. I don't believe anyone else was killed or injured in the terminal. NYC and US security is on alert as well as nations around the world! NYPD has placed resources at the airports to support PAPD teams and in the subways as a show of force. Please click link to story at CNN.com: UK Bombs! Please keep in mind that these terrorists will not cease to challenge our way of life! This is their religion and they are following it to the letter of the law! They do not like us because we do not follow the Koran, it has nothing to do with skin color or what kind of cars we drive! And it definitely had nothing to do with Tony Blair supporting the US in the Gulf and they most likely did this just to show everyone that it doesn't matter who is in charge, they just want Christianity to perish!
