You stole my line! Didn't NYC's fire service start with the insurance companies recruiting fire fighters to douse flames in properties they insured. Wasn't this also the objective of the NYFD Fire Patrols? This is proactive...and because they are technically not fighting the forest fire and only preventing damage to an uninvolved property why should they be held to the same standard. It specifically says that they are using a retardant to prevent fire. I don't think that they would fight the fire if the house actually caught ablaze because they are a 2 man crew. Sometimes you actually do pay for what you get!

Cropped and produced! Not a real usage...I hope not...

Nice building...looks like it was made of legos...lol

This was most definitely News12's field crew van. You can see the shots all weekend on News12. The car, a teal BMW with after market rims, was always cruising around the Y-O and White Plains. Guess they thought they were invincible.

My advice to you...don't wear it in NYC, Yonkers, Mt. Vernon...etc! You just don't know who will mistake you for someone you are not and fill you with lead! If you think I am kidding, stop by School St and see what happens. These are not a joke and could easily get someone killed! My brother in law is visiting from the Philippines and wanted one...I promptly told him what this was and what could happen to him while he is touring Manhattan and other locations on his visit. He is a little naive and even wants to go to BedStuy to hang out one day...Right!

NICE!!!!! On the resolving issue: Why doesn't everybody get together and buy the same exact equipment in Westchester...not only will it not matter who's name is on it, but then exchange can be even, and then you will save money buying them in a serious bulk and not just 1 at a time! At Empress, I preferred the Orange FDNY boards, they were easier to work with than those Purple (Ferno) ones that Empress deployed...so I didn't mind switching them out at Jacobi if it so happened to work out that way!

YPD ESU SUPERVISOR'S VEHICLE Was recently deployed in an attempt to help find an EDP who got lost in the woods in the Hollows, that Truck4 and myself know all too much about! Not sure what the policy is on its usages though. Female was located through use of screaming and manpower...she was in the woods between the aqueduct (Summit St) and Walsh Rd Senior Housing.

Maybe the County needs to build an EMS Station in Kentland...then there would be no quarrel over who staffs it and where it is kept!

Sorry, Good for Alamo if they are making a buck. This is America, Alamo is a private business, they are doing what they need to do. Better than saying they can't do it anymore cause they are going broke. They may be there to provide good care, but turning a profit is important also...they are not a municipal agency!!!!!!!! Way to go Alamo!

Personally, I believe it begins with the ambulance crew. If you properly triage your own patient and conclude that the waiting area is sufficient than so be it. We did this all the time. Some people call the ambulance cause they have the idea it means they are going straight to a bed or don't have money for a cab. Pay attention, examine/triage your patient and make the right choice. If you have a question, talk to the nurse. Even the VAC's have to learn this, this is EMS and everyone has to be on the same level. FYI: A few of our Westchester Hospitals have begun programs called, Rapid Admission. These protocols follow patients that have already gone to the private doctor and it has been determined that they qualify and need admission. These persons will most likely be brought straight in to a special area of the ER to wait for their bed to become ready on the floor, while the private MD sends in his orders to the ER staff. St. John's is one of these facilities. Just make sure your doc can admit there first!

No need for booze in the fire house. That is why they made bars! and I am not talking about the wooden thing in the firehouse!

Old people aren't teachable, neither are civilians for that matter (LOL). I understand where Stat is coming from but I just don't think these people will even listen. How many times do I tell someone that 911 is for emergencies, give them the correct phone number, 10 minutes later there they are again, "The dog is still barking", on 911!!!!! Just right him the summons! Lot easier for a Judge to say, "pay the fine and that will teach you a lesson!"

Date: 8/12/07 Time: Daylight hours Location: 80 School St Frequency: YPD1, Empress Units Operating: Housing, 3pct, 4pct, dd, ciu, ems...etc Description Of Incident: Male Shot in Neck and Abdomen Writer: Oswegowind Male shot in front of building, known member Latin Kings Street Gang. Taken to Jacobi by Empress. YPD investigating. The male that was shot is known because he was on the News12 gang summit, he was one of the LK that spoke from the crowd, if you saw the footage, he was the guy who kept saying, "you know what I'm sayin". At that summit the other LK representative insisted that LK was a political organization...guess everyone else didn't feel that way!

MTA police have statewide powers in NY since about 2002 or so...Reason why they have the state symbol on their vehicle! They can stop you anywhere, they are POLICE! Same goes for Park Police, although not State Troopers, the are NY State Park Police. They actually are on S Broadway sometimes...they respond sometimes to alarms at Phillipseburg Manor Hall, corner of Riverdale/Hudson. Most of the time they just call us and see if YPD went and what the conditions were, but I have seen them a few times. As for these parking ticket agents, correction NYPD traffic. They are a*******...they ticket for everything but don't set a good example by following the parking/traffic regs themselves. I understand what they have to do, but they think they are privileged to not have to do it themselves. As for Jimmy, I think he is right, but maybe he should tone it down a little, like send his tapes to city hall instead of youtube...just a thought!

I don't know how many are too familiar with this, but I believe a certain Mt. Vernon EMS crew once wanted to paint the ambulance to resemble a blue bird taxi (mt.v/new ro). Dobbs Ferry's touch is great! So many people think EMS is just a free taxi...cause we can't charge em with larceny nor can we beat them if they don't pay the FARE!

While vacationing back in May, at Disney, I took a lot of video, as well as nearly 2000 pictures. One of my favorite shows was in the EPCOT World Showcase, Sergio the Juggling Clown. Click the Link below for my video and a video he filmed himself. He actually emailed me via Youtube: How small is this WORLD???????? Don't forget to check him out if you go! Video provided by Sergio himself!

This one time at Empress....... The Billing director thought she was a capo in the EMS mafia and the billing letter kind of go like this: There is an easy way for us to collect this bill. There is a hard way for us to collect this bill. The easy way is you pay it. The hard way is we go after you, and your credit. Must have been great to get the bill right after having a heart attack and read this. Thanks to x307, I believe this has since been changed! I think EMS billing should follow whatever rules there are for hospital billing. Volunteer agencies should accept whatever the person can afford to give in regards to the services rendered. Especially if the town already collects tax for EMS/VAC. Then residents should not be billed at all, but non-residents should be.

No, but I have the ICE saved in my cell phone.
