5slow, I understand your frustration, I too have had this issue in the past. Instead of complaining, I just post my photos in the proper section of the forum. I don't think it is an inner circle thing, just the fact that human only has so many things one can do at a time. Seth runs, 3 forum sites, the original EMTb.com, x635 photos, his blogs...as well as being married, and all the other ish that life throws at each and everyone of us. I think if he put together a "team" of people with some training on how to update the sites, that might make it easier to provide people with coverage of their photos as they are submitted. Seeing as this seems to be one of the more upfront issues, maybe it can be addressed. A photo that changes each day is also a good idea, even if the archives are programmed into the rotation...just like the rotating x635 photos. That could work in between the newer shots being submitted, since it has been slow for action lately throughout the area.

Coming up, tonight's post game report from Toronto (not really, but I am watching the game from my leather chair). Stay tuned for Yankees Digest on EMTBravo.net. As for now, Joba is pitching, so I have to go back to work. Someone pass me a heiniken light!

Technically, Hackensack is .4 (point 4) or 2/10ths of a mile closer! I understand that Hackensack is a level 1 trauma center, as is WMC, but I am not familiar with the level of car performed or available at Goshen's ORMC. Religion should not be used to break the rules, and I would hope that any LEO in any state would be observant and recognize whether or not they are transporting a victim or returning to their jurisdiction. If you have definite knowledge of violations against DOH policies, state laws, then don't b&m on here about it, but proceed to call the appropriate persons and hound them until action is taken. I don't mind people ranting, but as previously said, it is useless and unproductive...even when I do it!

I have to disagree, a chopper with a "water cannon and small tank may be able to slow the initial fire down from the window, giving the interior firefighters a chance to fully extinguish it. Of course, proper communication is a must so that no one is in the apt when the bird lets loose. As well, heat travels up, so if you approach from even or just below the fire, then the columns will have no effect on the bird...I am not familiar with the water cannon and it's distance vs. results but think it is at least worth a try. Sometimes, we never know we can do something, until we actually do it! As well, I believe the FDNY deploys a Battalion Chief to NYPD aviation on all fires 3 alarms of better, not a high rise thing. JBE? You would have the most info on that. MFY

When I am at work, that is how I enter this site, but at home the bookmark is set for the network forums, not the .com home. I think a monthly photo contest would be a way, in which you would have to view the photos there and they would be numbered and then a vote could be done in the forums somewhere. Winning member could be awarded points.

I just though of something else, what if the injuries become more serious and the police actually have to do a follow-up, can the NYSP really afford to send a car all the way into Jersey???? I mean at least if the go to WMC, a trooper from Hawthorne could sit with them if needed and relay info appropriately, no?

Yankees Youth shines through once again; Hughes, Ramirez, and Ohlendorf combine in 9-2 Yankee victory in Toronto! The NY Yankees have completed their 6th straight victory, this time behind the second straight impressive start from one of their future stars, Phil Hughes (#65, lowest number available ending in 5). Hughes showed signs of struggle in the 2nd inning but was able to push through after giving up 2 runs, only 1 earned, which would be all Toronto could muster. Hughes wasn't the strike out machine he has been advertised to become, but his 2nd straight 6 inning performance has the Yankee brass patting themselves on the back once again. Torre kept with the youth tonight, bringing in Edwar Ramires (#31). Edwar was impressive as well, pitching the 7th and 8th innings, striking out 5 Blue Jays while yielding just 2 meaningless hits and walking none. The 9th brought on the next future star, Ross Ohlendorf (#UNK), a potential reliever for years to come. Ohlendorf was drafted in the 2004 amateur draft's 4th round by the Diamond Backs and was part of last years Randy Johnson trade deal. Ohlendorf pitched a perfect 9th inning, striking out 1. As well, the Yanks came out punching on offense once again, scoring 3 in the 2nd to put them ahead, which would be for good. Jorge Posada (#20) added his 20th homer of the season in the 3rd inning, and finished 2-3 with 3 runs scored. His performance this season has been outstanding, only overshadowed by the of teammate Alex Rodriguez (#13). Posada is now hitting .338 for the season, and is easily enroute to his best season ever. The Yanks blew it open in the 5th inning, when Toronto starter, Shaun Marcum (#28), let the bases get full of Pinstripes (not literal as they were wearing away gray). In to the box with 1 out stepped Jason Giambi (#25). Giambi would swing and everyone would score as he hit his 13th home run of the year, a Grand Slam. Hideki Matsui (#55) would add an RBI ground out in the 6th to complete the scoring. For the Yankees, they continue to pull ahead in the wild card standings, as Detroit split a day/night double header with the Rangers. Seattle plays late at home against Oakland. The Devil Rays knocked Wakefield out early in Boston, but the Red Sox have since 16 runs off of Tampa's staff and lead 16-9 in the top of the 8th. Tampa Bay's starter, Andy Sonnastine, was obviously not as sharp as he was last week in NY when he beat the Yankees, shutting them out. Guess he didn't feel Boston was as big a stage as NY and didn't bring his A-game!!!!! Game Notes: Johnny Damon (#18) went 3-5 driving in 2 and scoring once. Damon actually came to the plate 6 times, and was struck by a pitch, which does not count as an at-bat. Hideki Matsui, although driving in his 92nd run of the year, continues to struggle at the plate, going 0-4 and leaving 7 men on base. Hughes faced 25 batters in his 6 innings, throwing 106 pitches, 67 for strikes. A hefty pitch count for 6 innings. A somewhat off night for Alex Rodriguez, who over the past 7 days was hitting .579, with 7 homers, 10 RBI while leading the Yankees to 6 straight wins. Posada, now batting .338, remains 4th in the AL. Technically having an MVP season, including his best ever average wise (prior was 2000 season, .287 BA), however is not even a close 2nd to A-Rod. Statistics provided by MLB.com. Commentary original. Where is my press pass?

Is it already in the NYC MAC procedures/orders?

I used to check the Gallery ever so often, but now every time I click on the icon/link, I am directed to a page telling me I don't have permission to view this. Was this not transferred over during the last update, maybe? Just wondering...was hoping to see more members post pictures and stuff. MFY

If we actually learned from history, then how would it repeat itself?

****Warning Personal Rant**** Friggin Americans, yes, everyone is complacent. I am tired of hearing how we are losing soldiers for no reason in Iraq/Afganistan. I am sick of the news barraging our government in a means for "ratings". It hurts, especially after being there on 9/11 and seeing the devastation first hand! But, it is just an example of our deteriorating, selfish society, that will just keep going downhill. Not only are people complacent, but they just don't care. When was the last time someone yielded you the right of way while traveling southbound on Rte 9a in Mt. Pleasant at the Rte 117 entrance? Everyone said how much 9/11 affected them right after it happened, but how many of those people now even look at terrorism on American soil as a reality? People believe that it won't ever happen again, but then they want Indian Point closed. I can't even...I just get to angry...I'm done! I am happy they had the memorial this morning, it was touching!

Actually, before we met, this is what I wanted to do. Growing up and all. Maybe one day, but for now I am working on my pension, and then we will see after that! BTW Yanks play tonight! A-Rod at 52 homers and looking to break the NY Yankees single season record over the last 2 weeks of the season. He actually stands a great chance since he has hit 7 homers in the last 5 games...even with all that SHOULDER PAIN...LMAO. If Hughes can repeat his last performance, I and everyone in the Empire will take it...and lets try to keep our screams of "MINE" to ourselves...even though it was one of the funniest plays of the year. Rodriguez, was also named last week's MLB player of the week, like there was going to be a question about that! Yanks, Jays, 15 minutes, TV YES, Radio WCBS 880 in the metro NY market!!!! Let's Get It On!

I believe that the V&T specifies 35%. Anything darker than that is really not needed. A person who breaks into cars for a living will break your windows faster cause he can't see what you have left out inside...And if you are worried about the sun light, get a pair of sunglasses. Law Enforcement should have the ability to ticket places that actually violate the law and tint behind the permitted level, as well as the vehicle owner. This is a definite officer safety issue, just ask P.O. Timoshenko! I know that a few officers assigned to the YPD 1st Pct. do enforce this section regularly and they have the meter!

Is there anything we are not getting down here? We have so many new resources, most of the dispatchers won't have any idea what is going on...

This is a great idea. No more snooping by people that don't want to be involved. Love the idea Seth. Makes it easier to post things that some will find offense to. If they can't see it, too bad! By having to register you have an idea of who is looking at what! Thank you for taking this action!

I don't think that he could have been involved in the previous cases...if I am not mistaken he only worked at MKPD for one year or so...

I think the DA's office had to file this charge, sort of to save face. They couldn't just say there was not enough evidence and not let it play out in court, because of all the attention it has gained. People would have cried corruption amongst the ranks once again. By filing the charge, they will let the evidence do the talking and if there is a doubt...he will be acquitted. I think that at least two of the lesser charges will get him, unfortunately. I like how his supervisor has skated right through...shouldn't the supervisor be at least responsible somewhat for the officer's actions...why have supervisors if they just let what-ever go on and are not held responsible as well. Just sounds like a load to me...but in this job everything trickles down and most supervisors consider themselves untouchable!

Pretty cool stuff...one question I have is what is the big rig with the #58 on it for? Looks like a mix between and engine, a tanker, and an ARFF unit...pretty long wheel base! I think it is great to see what other jobs have and to learn how they work...everyone can learn from one another...as long as you pay attention. Like the ad for smoke detectors painted right on the fire truck...innovative!

Volunteering at Peekskill VAC, until I got recalled to Empress to cover the radios...Unfortunately had the news on after the first plane had crashed and got to see the 2nd one hit the tower before they cut away. Remember my Mom calling me while on my way down the Sprain to work, just said be careful and she would see me later. She was an emergency room nurse at Phelps at the time, and was expecting to see some injuries as the plan was for walking wounded to travel home to their local hospitals...she didn't see anyone that day. Neither did any of the ambulance crews that we assigned to cover all the Metro North stations that were within the Empress EMS district. That's kind of when you knew how bad it really was...then the towers collapsed!
