This sounds like a great idea. Paint each length a different color for visibility and for recognition of size. Maybe it should be recommended to the NFPA and made a national standard. So each department is uniform and it won't confuse anyone on mutual aid calls!

Okay, I am confused. I have a honda civic with manual (aka standard) transmission. The other available transmission as I know it, is "automatic". Standard/manual you have to clutch or in trucks, double clutch, and shift as opposed to automatics that just do it internally based on engine speed and need. Unless I have missed something...I prefer manual transmissions, because I think they are more fun to drive, but when it comes to emergency vehicles, they should be automatics with a shift override on fire apparatus with pumps/ladders so that you can bring the engine to the needed rpm's during pumping or aerial operations.

I just added my next video, worked hard on this one...it has nothing to do with emergency services as an FYI, it is my daughter in the park...I played with some of the features of Windows Movie Maker, more than I even knew about until recently. If you do visit and see it, let me know what you think...This may be an intro to something I will try! Masonzone3 Youtube Link! The video is named, Sarah Climbs the Wall!

No car seats, a stroller and walk, everything is pretty close that you will want to see..Otherwise use the subway, cheaper, faster, more efficient! Their is a Days Inn near Times Square and I heard they are reasonably priced and it is located in a convenient location. You should just Amtrak-it from PA to NYC...it will cost a lot to park your auto, an expense that you may not be ready to pay, upwards of $100 a day in a garage or lot! Street parking is not always avail, and parking tickets tend to pile up! If you submit an idea of where and what you want to see, I may be able to help you, I am a city buff...and have to show my relatives from around the County and the World around when they visit. To Boston, Amtrak Accela Express, 2 hour ride I believe, but Boston should be a whole separate trip! Or you should not go there at all!!!!! (I am a Yankee fan) Food, you will have your pick of the litter, literally! There are more restaurants per capita than anywhere else in the World. If you are looking for one for the wife and you (if you have a place to dump the youths--without drugging them) La Lanterna, located on MacDougal Street inear Columbia University, between E 3rd and E 4th St. Is a basement restaurant, candle lit, great wines, great foods, Thursday's have live Jazz!!!!! Unbelievable place! Order the peasant pizza with Salmon, capers, and onions, and for a good wine (Pinot), order a bottle of the Gavi Principessa!!!! Don't tell em I sent you...I just eat there once a year and they don't know me! Otherwise, just chill out and walk around! Times Square needs to be seen in the Daylight and in the Nightlight! Very important not to just see it once! Empire State bldg is awesome for the view, but will cost you a few bucks...Research the costs now, so you are prepared...NYC ain't cheap!

I disagree, the lawsuit here is not frivolous. The fans expect to see a game in which two teams strategically guess and counter guess, the better team should win. Although the Pats may have been the better team all along, if they were cheating, we may never actually know. Also, who is to say they didn't use this technique to win their super bowls???? Unfortunately, this is another stat that requires an "asterik"! My question is, will someone sue Bonds if they are able to eventually prove that he cheated beyond a reasonable doubt by using illegal steroids? I didn't follow him, so personally I don't care!

I understand your plight, as a Yonkers taxpayer that is. The ride to "CB" in an ambulance, although not medically necessary ever, is usually done out of safety for the officers or in a few rare cases when an arrestee cannot fit into the back of a caged police rmp. I transported a number of "1 under's" in the ambulance when I worked at Empress, including a very large man that fired a shot at his daughter's boyfriend, up in the Homefield section of Yks. I believe the fat on his arms disturbed his shot and that is why he missed...we didn't even take him out of the bus at CB, they printed him there and we brought him straight to Valhalla where they have accommodations for the obese. As well, we took a few EDP's that were also arrestees up to Valhalla that needed to be strapped down so they wouldn't damage the cruisers. It is a working relationship that is necessary at times. Although, it is unfair to the taxpayers, cause it takes a bus out of service for an extended amount of time, lessening the available resources that are already limited at least on the EMS side of the table.

FYI, this story is an elaboration of the facts involved. The person that the victims work for lives in Massachusetts, Quincy (I believe) and he was calling all sorts of media outlets and giving them this story. The only truth is, 1 of the victims was wearing a Red Sox hat. The suspects were from Pennsylvania and wear not wearing any NY Yankee gear, nor did they identify themselves as Yankee fans! The press is making this into one of those "sell me" stories! Unfortunately, this once again proves that there is no truth in reporting standard anymore, just take an idea and let go, no matter what you assume! The story found in the Journal News was provided by the Associated Press (AP contribution) taken from the Boston Globe newspaper. News 12 on the other hand, is just blatantly making their end up, and they continue to add to the pile of *hit they began with. Fights at bars happen on regular occasions throughout the land, but because the Yanks-Sox rivalry exists and it can make headlines, some "reporters" or story tellers continue to relate things without solid proof. And I am not sour at the Press cause the Yanks just lost again...But I am pissed about that too!

Code: 10-14B!

Let's see, maybe he had a keycode and coded in and then they reviewed the tapes (if they have video surveillance) to see what he was filling cause at 18, can he really be qualified already to operate all the apparatus? This is not the first time I have heard of this...the prior involved a member of a westchester dept fishing the credit card out of the apparatus and using it at local gas stations. This subject was removed both from the pressing department, as well as the covering ems agency he also belonged to. I understand another volunteer organization two towns away took him on as a member.

Doc, we already did the Subway Series thing in 2000...were you in a coma??????

Empress EMS has also gone wireless. And paperless??? Empress has recently gone to a computer based ACR system that reportedly, once mastered, reduces waste and time. Using toughbook computers and transmitting ACR's to hospitals and the billing department wirelessly is one of the most progressive EMS tools to date. Technology forward so to say. I am not familiar with any other "local" agency using the same technology, but I don't get around as much as I used to. I am big on tech, and I think this was a great idea, and hope the transition goes smoothly! Not only is the tech side great, and progressive, but this reduces waste. No more paper ACR's, even though it is currently transmitted to the fax machine at the receiving facility, it reduces the amount of paper being used. As well, it reduces the size of storage facilities needed to store the "hard copies" or original ACR's (PCR). Instead of 100 boxes per year, just a few hundred gigs on a storage drive. As well, dispatch info, address, in some cases patient info and insurance can all be loaded from dispatch, reducing the amount of "double" work that used to be done on each and every job. Now it just needs to be verified. Now if the hospitals could have their IT departments write a programs to seamlessly integrate the system so that copies of paperwork could be transmitted with patient info instead of some clerk making copies to go. As well the ACR's could be transmitted directly into the patient's chart or record. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Progress!

Since the old Wildcard one really didn't make sense anymore, I am starting a new one, for the last 12 games of the season! September 18, 2007, Yankees v. Orioles, Yankee Stadium, The Bronx. Game time 7:05. Mussina v. Leicester! Moose Eggs! Yanks blank O's behind Mussina's 2nd straight Stellar Perfomance! Tonight I report to you live from just leaving Yankee Stadium! My wife and I took our daughter to the game, 400 or so dollars later, it was worth it. Seats were hot! Mike Mussina (#35) got the start and turned in nothing less than what we need to get into and move through October. Moose brought is A-game and blanked the O's for 7 while allowing just 3 hits, 2 to Orioles catcher Ramon Hernandez. Tejada got the 3rd hit off Moose in the top of the 7th inning, a weak check swing grounder down the third base line. The Yanks put a 6 spot on the board in the 4th, as the struggling Matsui, who homered yesterday, smacked a 2 run double into the right field corner. Two batters later, Doug Mientkiewicz (#11) cracked the long ball, into the right field upper deck! The Yanks would go on to score 12, while the O's finished with the measly 3 hits they got off Moose. Veras and Villone cleaned up the last 2 innings as Mientkiewicz and Matsui added another RBI each. Matsui now has 98, as well as Bobby Abreu (#53). 11 games left! In other news, Toronto rallied in the 8th, beating the Red Sox 4-3. The Yanks now trail the Sox by just 2.5 games (2 in the loss column). As well, Cleveland rallied from 4 down at home to wipe out Detroit, 7-4, giving the Yanks a larger edge in the Wildcard race, now they lead by 4.5 and their magic number is seven! Just to give you an idea of what this means, the Yanks could finish the season 6-5 and Detroit would need to go undefeated in the same period of time!

Yanks Fall to Jays in Season Finale at Stadium, Boston gets a 1/2 Game more of Breathing Room! The Yankees couldn't get it done today, and Dandy Andy allowed 4 runs in the loss. The Yanks bats seem to dislike Pettitte for some reason as he continued to get piss poor offense. Andy ran into the same problem in Houston when he was there. Boston was off today but got a 1/2 game reprieve and now lead the American League East by 2. The Yankees have 6 to play, 3 starting tomorrow in Tampa Bay, and then the season ending series in Baltimore. Their magic number to clinch a playoff birth stands at 2. So far, Cleveland and Los Angeles (Anaheim/California) have clinched their respective divisions, and Boston is in the playoffs for sure, the Yanks appear to be the 4th team unless something even more unusual happens than the 2004 Red Sox series. As the Yanks prepare for the playoffs it appears they will carry 11 pitchers and 14 position players on the 25 man roster (see list below). MVP? Alex Rodriguez is a sure bet, his RBI today brings his career high to 147, which leads the league. He is also up front in home runs, runs scored, slugging percentage, and total bases. As well he looks to finish the season with a .300+ batting average. Hopefully he can get hot in the Florida Sun and finish off big...and hopefully carry it into the playoffs. Teammate Jorge Posada is still hitting in the .330's which is stunning for a catcher, especially with all he had to play this year due to lack of a good back up for most of the season. Potential Playoff Roster: Pitchers -- Andy Pettitte SP Mike Mussina SP Roger Clemens SP Phil Hughes SP ChienMing Wang SP Mariano Rivera CP Joba Chamberlain SU Kyle Farnsworth RP Edwar Ramirez RP Ron Villone RP Luis Vizcaino RP Position Players -- Derek Jeter SS Alex Rodriguez 3B Doug Mientkewicz 1B Robinson Cano 2B Jorge Posada C Jose Molina C Jason Giambi DH/1B Hideki Matsui LF/DH Bobby Abreu RF Johnny Damon CF/DH Melky Cabrera CF Shelly Duncan OF/1B Wilson Betemit IF Alberto Gonzalez SS/PR

That was the plan. They want to hear if there is an obvious "guess" made that occurs on every play. The Patriots were caught cheating. They were videotaping the signals and associating them with the plays being run...next time they see that signal, they were able to relay by intercom/radio to the field in order to appropriately line up the defense/offense to "guess" what was about to happen. The NFL was listening to both sides play callers in the booth to see if they coincidentally were changing plays after something was done. This is a check and balance approach. As was said, teams use encrypted systems so that the other teams cannot steal their plays and vice versa. As a result, the Pats were forced to video tape and use people to figure out what signals meant what based on the play following the signal...giving them an unfair edge. Why does everyone need to cheat these days? Baseball - Steroid probe Basketball - Gambling/Point Shaving Football - Video taping/resultant play calling Kind of sucks that people stoop to this level to get ahead instead of old fashioned hard work!

Used to love Hen Hud - Peekskill. I don't know if they play each other anymore though! Used to have huge bonfires at Depew Park in Peekskill and at Hen Hud in Montrose, the night before the game...but that ended when someone deemed it to be unsafe! FYI, when my Dad was a kid, the Jets practiced at Depew Park in Peekskill!

They have a number of civilian medics...the fly car that covers the villages is one of the units manned by them and a guy name Jared is in charge of the civilians. He took over the job after Scott Harding made police officer.

September 23, 2007 Mike Mussina continues to throw the ball well. Yankees win again, and so did Boston and Detroit. I worked a double yesterday so that is all I know! Yanks, Jays, Da Bronx, today at 1:05, a makeup game to a rainout sometime in April! See you there...not really!
