Best decision ever made! Fire your dumb-DONKEY agent and sign with the team that you can really make a name with! No one makes history in Anaheim, ehem Los Angeles, whatever! But as a Yankee, your fame is endless, especially if you break the home run record! I can see it now, when we are in our 70's and go to Yankee games the the "new" stadium..."Welcome Fans to the House the A-Rod built!"

What a DONKEY!

Missed it, but I couldn't have missed you if I went... By the way someone says to say Hi, but I can't remember who!
-
Wouldn't they need to deploy them to like Hillview and somewhere more north? Considering they are there to facilitate usage during emergencies at reservoirs that are spread out throughout the state?

We have the server, can hear it running, can see the lights, but operate on the old system still!

Right! I deal with it all the time! It is so ridiculous! Put the job in and send someone...you get no where arguing with people...except in a deep hole! We, as dispatchers need to wake up and realize we can be held legally responsible for our actions or our inactions. Recently I requested that a procedure be developed to deal with cellular 911 calls...my supervisors then dropped it in my lap and asked me to come up with said...I did it, on OT of course and submitted it weeks ago...they still have not acted upon it! So at least we are covered by the fact that it has been requested...some of my co-workers were annoyed at it...but they don't know how much it protects them at this point because management has been notified!

The segways are fancy...in EPCOT (Disney), they have a class you can sign up for to learn how to use the Segway...they take you all over the place...pretty cool...didn't have time to do it though!

Seattle is doing a pilot program using motorcycles...London uses them...both have similar if not worse climates than NY...Taking on this program would show some signs of progression and seeing if it will help meet the need, to resist is ridiculous...you never know until you try!

I think it is about time...I think that leaves Croton as the only Department in the Town of Cortlandt that is not dispatched by 60 control...however, correct me if I am wrong, 60 dispatches Croton if they get the job instead of calling the police desk for dispatch as was done in the past...so when their FAST is required there is no delay in getting that resource dispatched. It is my opinion that all Westchester County FD's (excluding the largest City) should be dispatched by the central communications center (60 control). There is no reason that they should have their own dispatchers. We always see the jobs that get posted and the mutual aid that is getting called...centralization eliminates phone calls to individual agencies and allows for better communications management of incidents. However, if you want your local cops dispatching you, that is your choice...just remember, they are cops and most of the time they don't really care about firefighters...well at least that is my experience!

Just call them "ALSFirefighter's Colony!" Oh and Muns started it!

Those pics are great! Poor TT driver...look in the mirror, he must have felt awful! As for the car's driver, did they live? If so, must have had one hell of a headache!!!!!

I agree...I almost forgot that Veterans Day is this week and then there is Thanksgiving...thought I slept through half of November! I know that time goes fast but come on! They need to chill (ha!) out a little bit! Too much of something can make it bad!

I think we have discussed the issue of "badges" to death on this board...better leave that one alone! As for something similar we can use name of apparatus manufacturers...some of can be like a Pierce while other can be basic or cheaper...LOL!

He's right, there is no UNC-Greenville...ECU is in Greenville, NC...UNC Greensboro is the UNC school with the similar name.

Hmmmmm! Anybody got a map?

I suggest a series of Stars, 1-5 like the generals in the army! Each would signify reaching a certain plateau! And then once you reach the top level you could add title's to their stars or colors such as bronze, gold, and silver...gives you at least 15 different levels of membershiphood...

I wonder if Durham, NC has any Duke Blue color fire apparatus! Go Devils!

According to an Old-timer (j/k Lieu {yfdcommlt})...it should be the old Rescue...in the "Big House" (looking at it) from left to right. 1st bay - Car # (old battalion chief...they used a car number back then instead of batt 1 or batt 2) 2nd bay - Rescue 3rd bay - Ladder 1 4th bay - Engine 1 Took two old timers (sorry Gene {psdefm84}) {in these parenthesis are their emtbravo names!} MFY

I may be there...living in Wappingers temporarily while renovating and adding on to my residence. Will have to take my brother-in-law, an MTA foreman in the Harmon Yard!
