I thinks it is absolutely crazy how hard it is to actually deport someone that doesn't belong here. All this talk and absolutely no action on a daily basis. But look at what happened in Mamaroneck...better be careful!

Prank = Crime in this instance. Hope someone follows through and hunts down the idiots!

Listen I never said anyone should just jump in and drive a fire truck! An ambulance is basically a van with a bigger box. Half the driver's I had couldn't drive for $hit anyways! A cop or firefighter needs no extensive training to drive an ambulance. We did it all the time in Yonkers, better to have the best hands in the back and leave the driving to someone else. Only once did I have to say anything to a FF about slowing down cause he was nervous! How many times did I have to give my so called partner instructions/directions, a lot more than that! Sorry but you don't have to be a genius to drive an ambulance! If life and death are the deciding factors, fore go the policy and do what is morally right! Except when x901 or DG were driving... Reason for edit: didn't want to piss off my favorite chauffeurs!

Eliminate traffic...that is a concept that doesn't work. Exiting onto Mt Vernon Av/Yonkers Av will be just as bad.

Exactly as someone else pointed out, EGO. If they can drive a fire truck or a police car, they can drive an ambulance. It all comes down to having to have control of every situation. I don't think they have to drive, but they can hop in the back and lend a hand. As well, if they are driving and they get out of control, just turn around with a needle in hand and let them know to chill out and slow down or they are getting the next dose, themselves!

Rest In Peace. Just a quick question, was he sick? I know him, but haven't seen him in years...

I work in 911, what do I get? Otherwise, this sounds like some scam to have the late officer's family involved in a lawsuit regarding his death. Conflict of interest???

And yet again, another reason for the State of NY DOT to take action at this intersection. A turn arrow would be the best possible solution. There is hardly any visibility when travelling south and you come over the hump to this intersection and some a$$hole turns left in front of you. And the same result but different reasons when you are travelling north and some a$$hole can't figure out how far away you are and they turn in front of you. The other 2 lighted intersections on this stretch of highway have turn signals that are set up using a "magnet" trip sensor. When a car triggers the magnet built into the ground it sets off another trigger in the "switching" box that turns the arrow function on and changes the traffic pattern intermittently to allow for safe turning to occur, reducing the risk of loss of life and limb. One of our Lt's. died about a week after he broad sided some broad in the intersection 3 years ago. He died of heart problems. Not that it was ever connected to the accident, however a long time smoker who was generally in decent health, in shape, and very active collapsed while supervising the radio room. When they opened his chest they found that there was a tear in his aorta. In the accident at this location, he was wearing a seatbelt and his airbag did deploy obviously generating enough force to cause this type of event to occur. Although they could have been unrelated, I think one caused the other or didn't help at least! Yo, DOT, get your act together!

Thanks, just as I was calming down from my 9a/134 rant you go and bring up this monstrosity of an idea! At least I don't have to deal with this anymore...now I jump on the TSP from 9A at the pretty new ramp, that they screwed up when pouring the concrete! Anyone else notice they had to patch the blacktop before the concrete already cause it wasn't level. That's what happens when you don't listen to the engineer and pour the exact amount, and not say...oh it looks like it needs a little more over here! Inside info used for the part about the concrete!

I also think that moving the "structure" at such a cost is a very poorly thought out idea. Unless someone is taking out of their own pocket. Yes it is a piece of our history, but it serves no purpose and hasn't for some time. The building floods everytime it rains hard, and is basically in shambles. Pictures of it serve it enough respect and can help those younger than us understand what it was. And pictures of it, there are many...including in my own private collection, that may be supplied free of charge to Centennial as other pictures in the past have. However, don't waste other taxpayers' monies or look for a handout from Entergy for some bogus idea such as this, there are better ways to spend a million bucks...if you are handing it out, I'll take a million myself, at least it will get used properly!

I usually figure out a way to put it in anyways, so hell yea! We don't get much else in the way of recognition anyways...right?

Doc, is Croton Falls that close to the Nation? Or are you drinking some odd colored water? LOL

Syracuse isn't bad either, but I would prefer Saratoga overall, or have two, 1 in the upper west, and 1 in the lower east...those are the two larger populated areas of the state, no?

I would fore go that policy in an instant and if they fired me, they would have to explain to the court system why they were preventing me from saving the lives that I am supposed to because they have some ridiculous, inefficient, unthought-out, ludicrous, and bull droppings policy! I know, I know, firemen aren't qualified to drive ambulances, only ambulance drivers can do that! I think that both the EMS personnel and the fire personnel in this specific area are, for lack of a better/obscene word, wussies!

390, that section in Montrose is really not that bad...especially when comparing it to and active 4 lane by 2 lane intersection where traffic crosses. Those accidents that occur in Montrose along Rte 9 are usually 1 car that was traveling way to fast for their own good, cause they weren't that good a driver to begin with. As for Jack Rd and such, different stretch of highway, completely different traffic routine. Most accidents there are caused by persons lack of paying attention and crossing the double yellow line. Although when they occur they are usually bad, the frequency is not anything more than average. Remember the days of South of the Bird and Bottle, at least 2 nights a week? Those were always horrific! 9A & 134 is by far the most dangerous intersection that I know of in Westchester County. This is based on volume + idiocy + fatality / 2...(the math is a joke, the situation is not!)

I only see primaries...sorry...but I am not a FF L71 is currently using the spare TL, the Mack-Baker, usually designated as L77.
